Anyone who says the games are tough is not looking hard enough.

Re: ***Official Stars Regs Thread***

Looking for up to $7k in $PS. Have $FTP. Willing to take smaller amounts/jump through hoops as precautions. Reputable posters only. I know ZOMG_RIGGED was looking for the other side but he self-banned himself so if anyone could contact him it'd appreciate it.

I apologize to the mods and posters if this is bad form in this forum/thread.

Thanks,
-Ben

the math for why the SD is the same for most players at 6max LHE?

There is not much to explain other than that the standard deviation (SD) is mostly a function of how the game of LHE plays.

I think you guys confuse SD with probability and magnitude of downswings.
Downswings are a function of two things (SD and winrate/edge).
SD is always around 18-21 or so for 6max LHE while the winrate is a variable.
So it is not far off to say that probability of downswings are only determined by your winrate in the games u play

My SD has never been above 17, although I'll quickly concede that I'm not in some of your guy's league and don't push some of the smaller edges you do.

Even so, I find it interesting that SD could be as small of a factor in downswings as you're making it out. Small winners need a much larger bankroll than a significant winner precisely because of SD. Am I incorrect on that? Why else would you need a larger br if not for larger downswings?

When I 8 table small stakes I need at least 1000 big bets and probably another 300 just to be safe. It's nothing for me to swing +100 big bets in a single session. In fact, it's rare that I don't. When I 3-4 table higher stakes, I don't need anywhere near that much. If I 1 tabled, I'd feel very safe with a 500 br overall and I don't think I've ever slid even 100 big bets in a single session.

So yeah. Obviously I'm confused. I always thought this was because I have much less edge when 8-tabling low limits than I do playing just a few tables of higher limit. I could be wrong. I've been playing online seriously since the beginning of the year and I STILL don't know what limits or how many tables is optimal for me.

Re: 5-10 players

I just started up playing 3/6 and 5/10 after a two month hiatus. I don't remember the last time there were softer games...it's been years since the games have been this good at the site I play at, amazing.

Number of tables has got nothing to do with brm unless you go in extremes

If you have HEM, it is one of the stats you can use in your reports screen. I doubt yours is much different from everyone else's, although I know why you think that.

Re: ***Official Stars Regs Thread***

I have PT3. I imported something that's supposed to give SD as a report, but I'm not so sure it's working.
