yeah, that would be the one. It's simply insane how many hands he put in over just 10 days.

I am sure this is not the case at any level above the nano's, but it seems like I can play 22/12 and basically fold to any bet when I have less than 2 pair and run 5+BB/100 so far.

Am I just running extremely hot over my first few thousand hands, or are the nickels and dimes just that easy to beat? If this is the case, at what point does this seem to change (.25/.50, .5/1, or 1/2)?

I am quite a NIT, but I guess that should probably read TPGK and not 2 pair. It seems to be faring quite well at the nanos though. I know it won't work for long, but I might as well take the low hanging fruit while it works, right?
11-29-2010 , 12:40 PM
no, no and NO!!!

you're just getting bad habits if you keep playing like that

loosen up, learn to play marginal spots while you're at the nanos. mistakes there cost way less than at higher stakes.

Why wouldn't I just play the style that nets the most profit at a given level, and make changes as I progress that will take advantage of the changes at those levels? That way I am far less swingy early on, and can move up more rapidly. ...assuming I am making the proper changes as I move up.

I tend to disagree with dragon.

At these levels, people just don't fold. And if they bet, they have the goods.

I think you are playing fine at this level, but each level you move up, you need to re-evaluate your game and see how you can loosen up.

Each level up there are less people open limping and less people on average seeing the flop, along with increased aggression.

I really haven't played a ton below 1/2, so take it for what its worth.

I basically felt the same way. I have played as high as 2/4 in the past, and I opened up quite a bit, but I had BR issues back then so my numbers are insanely bad on PTR.

I am finally learning to stick to a BR and put in the volume. I plan to learn as I go, and adjust to the changes in levels when I get to each level. The goal is to be playing 1/2 or higher at this time next year. I guess only time will tell, but I do plan on putting in the time necessary to improve.

I just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of my time at this point.

i disagree that your style nets the most profit

you may have less fold equity at those stakes, but people make way more mistakes postflop

in other words you should try to play as many hands as possible in order to exploit that.

second, i repeat that with that style you'll just get crushed once you move up. who knows how much time it will take you to lose the bad habits.

I guess I misrepresented myself somewhat in the OP, because I will bet my draws when I have multiple opponents, and I will call down with PP on A high boards if I feel villain can represent the A. I don't necessarily fold every time I don't have TPGK and I'm bet into, but it seems like this would net more at these nano limits with some of these really passive fish. Maybe I just have a really long way to go in my understanding of the game though. That's why I am here I guess.

Ha I love seeing a list 14 deep and already being in the game.

Kapsi was going off the deep end, 4betting 74, T3o etc etc

Obviously he booked his first winning session in his entire poker career while I was at the table and then left.

I quit, Mondays are slow and ****** and I got buried. Someone PM if TupeTaavi's house burns down though.

only 2 players?

i'll go with merry and sledge. I win?
11-29-2010 , 06:43 PM
Meh, mine are simple. Orange and red for winning players, green for breakeven regs or simply that I have a note on that person and haven't determined how I wish to label them yet. And light blue is bad down to dark blue which is horrible, and then a very select handful have purple which means drop everything and sit in their game and follow them around to wherever they go.
