Before I played single hand of real money poker I read Hold'em for advanced players twice and Theory of poker and Sklansky's Hold'em poker (that was December 2003/January 2004). But you don't actually know what it's like to play mid/high so...

And you don't know you're limitations, you just place limitations on yourself.

IQ does not matter with poker. You do not need a high IQ to crush all limits, you need a lot of things of course, but not that IQ

In January 2006 I was a small winner and moved first time from full ring games to 6 max. I was bonuswhoring a very tight 2B2 (now know as Entraction network) site. I lost 500 BB, because of bad play (I was a new to 6max games) tilt and relatively tight games lot's of bonuswhores and a high rake (overall I break about even thanks to a massive bonus). After my 500 BB loss I have to take 1 year break of playing and seriously consider killing myself. Now I always play many levels below what I really beat. I can't take big losses.

I know my limitations and are happy to play small stakes. I place limitations on myself, because I don't want to kill myself. Yes, I know that I could lose badly and probably lose sooner or later at small stakes also, I just hope I don't kill myself.

I'm often surprised how that type of thinking permeates numerous players. For example, here's a former HS player expressing the same basic thing. The problem with the logic in both cases is that the ability to handle swings is a skill not an inborn talent. Being relatively happy and playing mid-high stakes are not mutually exclusive for anyone. It just takes work.

Good luck to beat high stakes to IQ of 81. Some part of IQ is almost usless at poker and some isn't. Even if you suck that almost useless part of IQ, you overall IQ has to be at least 100 (like 80 almost doesn't matter part and 120 matter part), If you want to have any chance at poker over microstakes.

I have played poker since January 2004 and before that I played (ice) hockey seriously 15 years. That's over 20 years and I haven't learn to take presure. Can I just give up and be honest myself. I can't handle presure and that's why I play smallstakes rest of my live?

enlightme why do you need an IQ of 133 to beat mid/high stakes.

btw. I dunno what 133 does mean, I haven't done this test but I guess if you claim IQ 133 that must be something high

It's not genius high. Like, he couldn't get into mensa w/ that score.

FWIW, iq tests do not accurately gauge the intelligence of someone. There are more factors than the raw ability to process, sythensize. Like memory, experiences...

I didn't write, that you need IQ of 133 to beat mid/high stakes. I wrote, that you need IQ of at least 100 to beat anything, but microstakes. Average IQ is about 100. I'm not smart, I'm actually dumb in many things and I have serious issues.
