yeah I mean all I read about Mexico on our local news sites is they find like a dozens of chopped heads somewhere pretty much every week who usually turn out to be tortured once they find the bodies. and when they don't find chopped heads they find people hanged on bridges (also pre-tortured ldo). I realize the war is between drug cartells but who the hell wants to go live in a country like that, especially in the posession of a lot of money?
Restaurants, by law, have to have filtered water and ice in Mexico. Mexico has a lower per capita rate of crime than the US. Assault, rape, burglary, car jacking, all lower. Violent crime is higher - but that is fueled by the drug wars. Almost all of the drug crime is being committed in a couple places, where even Mexicans aren't safe. If you stay away from those places and don't get involved in drugs, Mexico is perfectly safe. Don't go to Ciudad Jaurez or Monterrey obviously. But then again you probably shouldn't go to certain neighborhoods in the US (detroit, newark, baltimore, oakland) either, and I feel perfectly safe in the US.

Re: ***Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for May***

you realized that countries are corrupt and not everything gets taken down in censuses. I would imagine the usa is better at record keeping/ enforcing laws than mexico is ( not saying we dont do horrible things either). I'm skeptical about the fact that Mexico enforces restaurants health codes as strictly as the health departments in the usa.

If i were to travel to mexico i'd stay in the loop where im near an american tourist destination. I imagine those areas are best. Daiquiri your statement was a little bit of an overeaction.

Dos
Do you really believe their stats are reliable? It's in their best interest to save the tourism industry by adjusting those numbers

My stereotype of most Americans being uninformed, jingoistic and arrogant was just reinforced. Most of you have literally no idea what the rest of the world is like.

Re: ***Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for May***

By that I mean a lot of the world is third-world crapholes. Even places like South Africa that are not third world are places I don't want to live because the crime rate is off the hook. Or lots of places in Europe and the U.K., where you get a dumpy 200 year-old apartment for the equivalent of $2000 per month, I consider a ****** place to live because the cost of living is so high.

RE: crime rates in Mexico - a lot of crime is probably never reported. In many places the cops were involved with the crime, so they're the last people you want to tell. I don't know if I'd call it "perfectly safe", but smaller, out of the way places like Rosarito that fly under the radar are probably safer than most.

I feel like this is a redundant question, but here goes...

have you ever lived anywhere else but the US?

Yeah, but we have the most of the rest of the super team, which include Captain AMERICA's patriotic shield, ultra-capitalist playboy Tony Stark, roided out Mark Ruffalo, a tool that shoots arrows, and an old-ass black soldier.

Scarlett Johansson's tits and ass is an international treasure.
