I would say close to that yes. maybe have position on table fish with at least another big loser at table and beating the rake is possible. some of the other guys who have played since BF might have a better answer. fwiw i beat 2/4 for about 1.5yr before BF for over 1bb/100 and most of the time i was in the game i had table fish on my right and at least 1 other fish in game.

Well, I'd very strongly prefer to avoid being at a bar by myself for hours on end if there's not a reasonable chance at a payoff.

I'm going to lay it out for you step by step. Even you will be able to accomplish this, guaranteed.

PLAN A
1. Fly to Vegas.
2. Rent car.
3. Drive to Pahrump to the Chicken Ranch or the other brothel there. They are legally sanctioned, the hoes get checkups, etc. They have websites, you can check the hoes. Don't expect any Hooters Girls finalists.

PLAN B
1. Fly to Reno.
2. Rent a car.
3. Drive to Carson City or other nearby cities where there are about half a dozen legal hoehouses. Table selection is much better. Sometimes they have actual porn stars. Most porn stars make more money at the brothels than in front of the camera. The cost goes up to about a pot size in your usual games.

Heh, yes, I know this, but I figured I should first see if there was any interest before I did all of that.

I'm aware that I can have sex at a brothel. That wasn't what I was asking.

Clarification: I've never gone to a bar for the purpose of hitting on women or whatever. I was wanting somebody to break down the pros/cons of trying that compared to getting a hooker via craigslist or however it is that people do it in the Midwest.

not sure how the purchase of a prostitute's services work but...i'd imagine that it boils down to something like :

bar patron : more selective about who she lets into her bedroom - alcohol/group of friends permitting.
prostitute : selection criteria -> do you have cash? if yes, sex, else no sex.

bar patron : spend money/time with no guarantee that you be having sex (with a person) at the end of the night
prositute : spend money for sex with a person

also, there's probably a chance you can end up on C.O.P.S. or something if you purchase the services of a prostitute.

Eh, pros and cons are obvious. Bar chick pros - might be cheaper, you can convince yourself she really likes you, probably going to be better looking. Cons - won't leave after, might be stalker nutcase type, might rob you blind when you're not looking, husband/boyfriend might stab you to death, she might puke all over your car/house.

Craigslist hooker pros - almost none. Cons - good chance of being robbed or killed.

Actual professional hoe cons - money. Pros - they/you leave after and you never have to see/hear her again, most won't try to blackmail you, many are very good at the boinking. I mean, you would expect a New York Yankee to be a better ball player than the guys on your softball team, right?

Thanks fellas, that was more in line with what I am looking for. I have no experience with either option, and as such had no idea which was more +ev (and still don't, though I'm getting closer). I've spent a little time researching on the internet, but it wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be.

Depends on your definition of 'fish' and the quality of the other players. Average regular has improved though; wadsulator went busto for example.

How do you know this

Judging from his PTR graph it was inevitable, he went from breakeven to a loser over large samples. I don't remember what it looked like exactly but he took a huge nosedive this year and dropped something like 40k. He also hasn't played for a couple weeks.
