Blitz is fun. I got tempbanned from ICC, playing on Free Internet Chess Server. If all you want to do is play games, it's almost as good.

Best way to test your intuition is 3 0 imo. 5 0 gives you too much time to calculate if you bust through the opening quickly. Calculating is easy with enough time, but if you want to figure out where to put your pieces in middlegame situations (which is the meat of the game) you have to develop your intuition.

In other words, you gotta learn how to be a feel player too, just like HSLHE (/troll?)

The poker rate is $120. Sometimes you can get better than $120 online. But basically, you just book a flexible rate (do NOT do an advance purchase or book through expedia or something because they will be unable to change you to the poker rate) and tell the front desk when you arrive that you plan to play a lot of high stakes poker and want the poker rate. I think they sometimes ok it with a floor, but not sure. If you don't know the floors, prolly best to just call the front desk right now and ask them wtf to do. But I think they sometimes just give you the poker rate without checking with the floor.

I decided to download Party so I can rail last week. I haven't watched the games on Party for years. The action is absolutely horrible. I have seen 20/40 run once. Usually there is 1 or maybe 2 tables of 10/20-15/30. Small stakes looks really dead too.
