I think people are asking way too much of Elo ITT. First, a bunch of you suggest he approach a female romantically in a normal, well-adjusted way, and now you want him to justify dissing a place he's never been to and probably knows next to nothing about?

I know I'm a bit late but Sleeping Dogs is amazing on the xbox. Highly recommended. Have a look at the combat at 7:30.

I found Elo's play here. Nothing can go wrong.

Had some trouble responding to UG's post because I simply agreed with most of it and it was very well written. ty

Part of the reason I said that is because I was on massive tilt last night. I'm sure it's just as nice as anywhere else. It's all the typical horrors involved in moving that is the ****ty part.

What's not to like about Thailand? They hold parades for giraffes there

It's hardly any work at all. You don't need to get a visa in advance or any bs that's common w other countries. You just show up with your passport, they stamp it and you're good for 30 (?) days or something. You also don't need to move there. Just go for a couple weeks. afaik sg and trypt are over there, this really couldn't be much easier.

Why the hell would I want to go there for a month? Wouldn't be able to get online poker set up in that timespan.
12-06-2012 , 05:15 PM
bc it's awesome. that's why.
12-06-2012 , 05:39 PM
There would be two reasons to go there: poker and girls. Not particularly interested in anything else. I wouldn't have enough time to set up poker, and it doesn't seem like a great idea to go spend all my time and money to travel to a different country just to get my dick wet.

thanks though

It's called traveling and people do it for fun.
12-06-2012 , 06:04 PM
cool story

I'm sure I'm not the only person who hates traveling.
12-06-2012 , 06:19 PM
How would you know if you hate traveling? You've never done it.
12-06-2012 , 06:29 PM
you're right, never once in my life have I traveled, good read

(wat)
12-06-2012 , 06:44 PM
you're a smart guy, you'll figure out what i mean
12-06-2012 , 06:57 PM
I don't think I will.

I've traveled before. Went to Costa Rica when I was 12.
12-06-2012 , 07:03 PM
k, I stand corrected. Thought you only went to Vegas and LA a few times.

Most people hate the travel part in travelling for sure. Not many hate visiting a new place and experiencing new things. I've met a ton of people that visited Thailand and not one of them didn't think it was an awesome experience. Maybe some bias in my sample cause people that actually travel to Thailand are more likely to enjoy Thailand, but still.

This is probably true. I, however, do indeed hate new places and new things. But anyway, this all started with something dumb I said last night when I was on monkey tilt. I apologize.

Traveling mostly sucks to me so far. Exploring a new city and stuff is fun, but I mainly get really bored and restless and frustrated that I spent so much money to make myself miserable.

I hate drinking, bars in general, beaches, and huge groups of people. I really hate being in a hotel.

Honestly, wtf am I supposed to do when the day is over or I need to rest from doing all the neat tourist stuff? It's not like I have the attention span to watch TV or read a book. Laptops are total pieces of **** and I want to smash it against the wall within 30 minutes of dealing with one. Sleeping in a hotel is nearly impossible. So I get horribly bored and restless and just want to gtfo.

That being said, I do have to admit I have mostly put myself in really stupid situations when I travel. When I get back in shape, I should try going hiking in cool places like Norway or Peru or maybe run some cool road races around the world. Something completely unrelated to poker. That might not suck.

u should come to norway some time UG just stay away from the winter half of the year when it is mostly freezing and darkness around the clock

I get the impression that the guys who like travelling either go with someone or meet someone there. The guys who don't go alone and have no plans to meet anyone there.

I've been to a bar once in my life alone and hated it.

U should pay the chipotle bill with a 5k commerce chip and then ask her if she wants to go to LA and blow the rest of it

I am in the marine core for 13 years now and I travelled my ass off to all kind of different environments and I think it helped me seeing things from another perspective and it made me an adult in a faster way, but that's probably because of the countries that had conflicts. I appreciate what I have at this moment and not being that materialistic as I used to be and a lot of people still have this.

I don't know if this is a world wide thing, but here people always watch at there neighbours, If they have a flat screen or a big car they work there ass off to buy the same thing. Doesn't matter if they have debts for a really long time, look at me we have that big car to now. I think being healthy and being with your family and friends, Wife or husband and kids who you love is far more important.

Also where I was born in a small village, people almost never get out for their whole lives they meet a girl and grow old there, not that this make their unhappier or something, but I think it's so wonderful to see other countries, how they live, what they eat , enjoy better temperatures or worse , what's the history of the country, walking through ruins of the Roman empire or other periods, meet other girls then only the Dutch ones, doing some workout when you climb a mountain in Scotland or walking some old trail in Peru and making new friends. It is so much fun and It must help you in one way or another.

Flying every time sucks and vacations are not always for free, but the satisfaction of many breathless moments are make it more then worthwhile. A bit of a long story to say: unguarded go to Thailand and Elo go to that girl and speak to her, she will be just as scared as you are, but if you never get in contact with here, you will never know it. We have only got this one chance and live and it could be over in a split second.

Enjoy.
