I try to never pay attention to whether I'm running good or bad at poker. Same goes for my stock investments. Since I can't control the short-term ups and downs, I see no point in worrying about them. I am running bad in the online dating category though. For the last 25 girls I've written, I've gotten no response, or a few back and forth emails that quickly sputter out for some unknown reason. I think it's time to start writing fatties.

I will say that I ran like complete horse**** for all of last year so I dont feel entirely bad. I also had a particular bad leak, that made the downswing even worse, but this year is pretty much a correction for last years ridiculousness. The funny thing was I started running better before I fixed the leak and once I actually patched it, my results got even better. I also tweaked a couple of other parts of my game that I believe have helped me tremendously. Only time will tell, but of course by the time the longrun comes my style might be fishy and Ill have to completely revamp again.

Interesting, as far as leaks I would say that's a pretty rare phenotype. Can you give me an example of the type of hand you would possibly spew and fold a year ago?

I actually had pretty decent results online overall, but I had a 500bb ds in there and I gave up counting the live ds after 350 bbs.

Cant think of a great example, but generally I would try and squeeze value in 1 pair spots on somewhat scary boards like say AA on JT9dd and like a 5d on the turn and I would raise fold or I would 3bet a suspicious turn cr with a marginal sd hand and fold to the cap type stuff. I would say my ridiculous aggression would put me in spots where I was bloating the pot and feeling like I had to fold to further action when there was no reason to bloat the pot in the first place. It was a Ive got to protect my made hand at all cost regardless of my equity-oops he has a better made hand now I need to fold.

Ha! I still have this problem when I play in passive live games. Sometimes I forget that I don't have to protect my top pair hand because when villain bets the turn that means it's all over. Once 3bet, I usually see things more clearly.

I think the thing you forget, most players aren't trying to outplay you by raise capping the flop, then raising the turn.

against good players, when they raise the turn, KJ is the nut low.

for those of you who don't know what he's talking about, it's an account-specific equity multiplier. when these qualifications are met

1. K22r flop
2. turn card is two ranks lower than his kicker
3. turn card gives him four of a suit

his account-specific equity multiplier (ASEM) is 3. therefore, even though it would appear his equity is about 22%, when you apply the ASEM, you get around 66%. thus, he 3-bets.

I got a number from a fat Asian chick today so yeah still running bad. As far as downswings go, I wouldn't say it's that serious yet. Right now I would say I'm going through the equivalent of a 100BB downswing. Two more months of this and then I'll be worried.

Also, given the relatively small population of truly freaky girls, odds are my next girlfriend (or victim depending on one's perspective) will be in the normal/boring range. This means there's a better chance of a hooker-like story developing if I DON'T get a girlfriend (since sooner or later I'll need my fix). I hope I can get the best of both worlds and find a skinny freaky girlfriend but outlook is gloomy on that possibility.

Another thing I should add is that I don't think you'll be hearing any more prostitution stories from me given the new strict Iranian rules of the updated AP thread. I've already had one post Insta-deleted from this thread due to some sexually explicit language. It was actually pretty tame compared to some of my past material. The deleted post was a tribute to ex-girlfriends explaining why they are the angels of the mind. AFAIK, GemiNiveK was the only one that saw it.

Speaking of prostitution stories. I am going to Vegas this weekend, and I definitely plan on going to an Asian massage parlor and getting a happy ending, but I don't think that's fundamentally interesting. IMO, filling one's car up with gas is about as interesting as that. I'm just hoping I can find a nice Asian girl who will get naked, actually give me a decent massage, and allow me to touch her during the happy ending part, all for $300 or less. I very rarely get that whole combination. Most girls keep their clothes on, give a ****ty massage, and won't let you touch them. If I lived in Vegas I would have this issue completely worked out.
