Yes, I see this one a lot. They bet bluff catching hands or make pure bluffs in tiny side pots.
The main thing I notice about TAG players that don't play well is that they aren't flexible. They are level 1 for the most part and tend to make rule-based plays instead of flexible plays based on the tendencies and range of hands that their opponents have.
Some examples:
- They raise a hand like 44 UTG or 3-bet a TAG's UTG raise with ATo in a high rake game.
- They semi-bluff in spots where either they have little fold equity against their opponent's range or their opponent is the type that never folds.
- They play small pots too aggressively (see MacGuyV's example).
- They raise in spots where they are either tying or losing (not overcalling for example).
