Speaking of running and prop bets... Anyone interested in a 100 mile trail race prop bet? I am considering the possibility of attempting one of the toughest 100mi races around (Superior 100) in 2015 .

"One of the toughest 100mi races?"

I defy you to name a 100 mile race that isn't tough.

All running in real life is easy and doesnt count. Now, if there was a running video game....

The farthest I've gone is 31 and I was very ready to e done by the end. So yea I'm in no way saying any 100mi race is easy, but certainly the relative difficulty from one to another can vary greatly. Temperature/ weather/elevation change/running surface/etc.

The Superior Trail 100 was founded in 1991 when there was no more than a dozen or so 100 mile trail races in the USA, back then if you wanted to run a 100, you had choices like Western States, Hardrock, Leadville, Wasatch, Cascade Crest, Umstead, Massanutten and Superior. Superior quickly earned it’s reputation of its namesake today – Rugged, Relentless and Remote and is known as one of the toughest 100 mile trail races in the world!

Did you know that running in real life helps develop the cardiovascular system? During this development many more capillaries are formed, which help blood flow. One area where more blood flows is the genitals, which is why distance runners often have very large (when erect) pee pees.

The toughest race is probably Barkley. 14 people have managed to finish out of thousands of entrants. This documentary about the race is pretty awesome:

According to letsrun.com forum posters, ultras are nothing more than all-you-can-eat buffets full of 4+ hour marathoners who need to walk-jog absurd distances to feel better about being slow.

Hahaha, that's funny. And probably some truth to it.

They're stupid. Anyone who runs or walks 100 miles deserves credit for simply doing it, regardless of their reasons for doing it. It cannot be easy.

No interest in a prop bet from anyone? Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I think grinding poker and doing a 100mi race have some similar psychological aspects. Things out of your control are going to happen to you that feel super ****ty but you must keep a level head, not panic, and make the right decisions to successfully reach the finish line.

I'm not really into shot taking (pun intended).

any version of this where beer is acceptable?

Gonna head to Mexico on Sat night or Sun morning, might play some silly tournaments but Sunday night (maybe) or Mon, Tue, Wed would work.
08-21-2014 , 10:07 PM
eh Asian dude don't do well with beer. but we can work something out. let me know when you get to mexico. PM for detail.

Actually why don't you come to SEA. I can actually meet you for a battleship style hu match. That would be more fun if we were going to drink.
08-21-2014 , 10:35 PM
what's SEA? Seattle?

I kinda have my travel plans in place atm, not sure I can deviate too much. For the drinking I'd be fine with some loosely defined gentleman's agreement. If it's really important to you we can try to hammer something out.

i'm totally bummed the thread got locked. it's been slow around here since elo's ban and that thread was the next best thing to an elo rant.

if you guys do a huLHE match, it'd be cool if you did it publicly so that we can all watch. i would like to bet on who the winner might be.

My aces get crushed by AK yet again. 87% edge, my ass. I believe I am lifetime loser with AA vs AK.
