Aggressive Value in Blind Battle

Villain is a Lag/Tag regular. He's 3-betting me wide here preflop (but not maniacal.) I think he'll fast play most stuff on this flop as well as FSDR some hands like A7/A5 and Bet/3-b semi-bluff some hands like Big flush draws.

Do you like the flop cap? If not, how do you continue facing the flop 3-bet?

I don't think I like the flop cap. I don't think you're well ahead often enough to do it when you can just check-call it down and get most of the same value out of his bets. I think the decision is quite close and a cap is fine - obviously value bet turn and river when you do. Did he raise river?! Awful card but if he knows that and can bluff you might have to call as you need to be good only 7.5%! Awful, awful card!

When you say FDSR I'm not sure if you mean on the turn or if you are talking about a free card play on the flop. I would just call on the flop. Its not like we are crushing if he has a two overcard flush draw - far from it. I just think this is a little too much action but if he is free card playing I can totally understand why you did it.

I was referring to a free card play on the flop, ie 3-betting a hand like A7/A5, checking back the turn, and deciding on the river.

I still haven't made up my mind on this hand. On one hand, I think we're lucky if we have 50% equity vs his flop 3-betting range and there is still the possibility of a turn raise. On the other, he gets to play pretty well against us if we just call the flop 3-bet and I think we kinda win the least when we are ahead.

Pretty sure the cap is going to be suboptimal against a normal 3 betting range here. If he's doing this with literally every GS and FD then its close. Without a strong read I believe a call would be better.
