Adjustments to my game....seems to be helping???

I've tweaked a few things to my game which seems to have helped--although the sample size is WAY too small to draw any conclusions from. Still I wanted to check with you cardheads and see if these basic changes are well received.

(1) I stopped playing small off suit aces (except when on button).

(2) I never open limp, in any position.

(3) I only play suited connectors now (had a bad habit of playing 98, T9 off).

(4) I C-bet all flops checked to me when HU, even if I have 33 and board is TQA. If I do get called the turn play gets trickier, esp if it's checked to me again. Not sure what best play is, but I usually will shut it down (in the example I gave, where I have a small PP and board is picture heavy).

(5) I raise when I have a drawing hand (mainly for fold equity and to get a feel for what they have should they call). In the past I'd just call down and hope to hit my draw, then fold if I missed. I'm still unsure of the best strategy in these situations, but playing it aggressively seems like the best bet???

Comments? Advice?

Thanks,

1. Depends. If there is a tight button you can steal with AXo from CO.
2. Seems good.
3. Too vague. Dump your 54s UTG, steal with your 87o from the button. Lots of variables at play.
4. Checking back flops is the new cool thing. It's tricky to know when to do it, but good players are doing it sometimes these days.
5. Depends.

Post some hands. This is all too general, you are going to want to deviate from your assumptions here quite a bit depending on the specifics of a situation.

^what he said
seems like ur keeping things a bit too general tho. all those points are somewhat related to what opponents ur playin against etc

Epic suggest to a guy who thinks its only right to play off suit aces on the button, that its a good idea to implemented as complex as checking back flops.

on a serious note tho,
1. Be more aware of your opponents
2. same as number 1, but for the most part your right.
3. From the BTN and CO you can play a fair amount of crap.
4. 100% c-bet isn't good, be slighly more exploitable and have a 90% c-bet and just dump some crap against tight opponents.
5. In multi way pots your not going to want to knock people out, HU you have more incentive to be more aggressive in order to balance value combos in your range.

Mostly though hard and fast rules to live by in poker are terrible. Think more about why you do something in a situation and then expand that logic to other areas. For example 100% c-bet against a 80/0/75 (vpip/raise/wtsd) is insane with non value hands, and all players for somewhere on this spectrum from deserving a 100% c-bet to a 0% c-bet.
