After like... 5 years of zero poker, I have a bit of an itch. Any suggestions on where I can play from the US that the rake is beatable (or rakeback is easily recouped)? Don't really need to play outside of .5/1-5/10.

I looked through those threads and got utterly confused.

I guess my best bet is going to Canterbury or Running Aces. But, crikey, total of 1 hr of driving to play 20 hands/hr at stakes that I wouldn't care about (good job, kids, mortgage = could play 50/100 but losing $2k would hurt WAY more than winning $3k, so I'd play like 6/12 or some nonsense).

Wow, 5 years, you have been out of the loop. Limit holdem is now illegal in all of North America as detrimental to the health of the country. Only NLHE, PLO allowed. This forum is now for Netflix reviews and NBA DFS advice. Which is better...good job, kids and mortgage or job, good kids and mortgage or job, kids and good mortgage?

ignition casino (formerly bovada) is the only place with lots of lhe traffic, and they accept players from most states. no rakeback, but a 100% up to $1000 first deposit bonus, and overall soft games.

there are a couple other sites with very small amounts of limit games

i have a good (imo) write-up on most of the usa-facing sites on my website if that helps you or someone else out hopefully

If you had a bovada account in the past, can you make a new one with Ignition to take advantage of deposit bonus?
12-29-2016 , 03:21 PM
yes, as long as you didn't convert your old bovada acct over to ignition already

Sweet! I didn't. Thanks.

Pope, the problem is that the bonus clears indredibly slowly if I remember right... not like the old days when we got 60+% rakeback while clearing. I don't have the exact numbers, but have seen plenty of people in the Ignition thread complaining about it. It's nice if you are planning on playing there anyway, but not worth bonus hunting if that is your primary motivation.
