I hear you but I have had that thought in my head for a few days with really nowhere to put it. When I look at John Stewart, Trevor Noah, Steven Corbert, John Oliver, or Seth Myers I just feel like they are somehow part of the problem. I just don't see any accountability on the part of the media, no questioning of the dominant practice of constantly making fun of conservatives. Yeah, conservatives are ignorant. Yeah, they think a magic man in the sky is responsible for everything. Yeah, they are so paranoid that they feel like the need an assault rifle to walk into a coffee shop. At some point between laughs though it has to be considered that these ridiculous people have more guns, the congress, the presidency, and the overwhelming majority of governorships.

Yeah all thats true. Ive never liked the disrespect of calling God a sky daddy or making fun of Jesus and think the left goes over the line sometimes. And they should be criticized for it. But its not like its a one way street. The right mocks and belittles just as hard, if not harder. They both go way over line on the extreme side of PC stuff to the point where one would put me in jail for hate speech and the other would for blasphemy speech against God.

Point being i agree the left should look at themselves and maybe try a little turning of the other cheek to them being hippie commies and hold off a bit (its good sometimes to mock of make fun) on the mocking. But at the same time dont let the right fool ya into thinking they are the only victims of the mockery.


Mostly though i think people need to put there big boy/girl paints on and suck it up. Merica? no...


Comedians are an important window on us. Think it would be less safe without them. The right needs to get better ones is all.

Or maybe this is just a thread on a message board, and nothing hinges on it save the enjoyment of its participants. I know the default assumption should always be that the fate of the Republic and the free world hinges on our every word and deed in whatever thread we're in, but I have a gut feeling that's not the case here.
