+1 woman's tennis being a great spectator sport. Fond memories of Steffie Graf ass in the air during the Coke summers of my childhood.
Complain about objectification of women in one breath, objectify women in the next

Clear cut case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

@shame... since i didn't want to quote the whole first post just to say "that's reasonable"... so... that's reasonable... and you have me thinking about my post... only thing i'd say is that while baseball is truly awash with cash and attendance is certainly good, it's driven by local interest now, vs. national interest... but that's a minor quibble...

agree with the first sentence...

strongly agree with the second...

there's not a strong enough collection of adverbs and adjectives in the english language to put in front of agree on the third...

It's hard to argue Shoeless Joe actually tanked. Neither of those two infamous cases interfered with an ideal fair game of baseball, or directly skewed the results.

Some of the Black Sox, however, obviously did go in the tank. That series wasn't even a ball game, so to speak... ideal fairness isn't an issue at WWE. No amount of individual cheating on the juicing level, even as widespread and effectively condoned as it was, could turn things into a 1919.

Or I guess, what I was trying to say... as a recognized major sport, and an industry, the gambling issue is the 'third-rail'. Mess that up, and you're dead... end of story. PED abuse is just another problem to deal with, and IMO it has been to a significant degree. It ain't in the same ballpark, again looking at it only as an industry.
i continue to say "that's reasonable"... and you are convincing more, see below...

yea... but... he IS a dick... **** i hate that guy... ate enough greenies to fuel a shock troop division... king of false hustle... ended a guy's career in a ****ing exhibition game... had to manage himself in order to hang on long enough to break a record (at least ty cobb isn't on the si list )... broke baseball's cardinal rule... lied lied lied about it, and laughed all the way to the bank, all while playing the "sympathetic character"...

the only thing he has going for him is that he isn't ****ing lance...

@shame... ok, i'm convinced. although i still think the roid thing was/remains a "big deal"... although in another 10 years, it's likely to become just a "was"... the damage to the record books is there, but as the older generation, ummm, moves on, the record books probably will become less relevant...

actually, i thought you were referring to pete, since you said "him"...

so yea, ccotenj didn't get the so-called "joke", and would have ignored it had he gotten it...

hint: your "joke" isn't funny...

however, since you'd like us to stop tarding up the thread... got anything non-misogynistic to say about serena?

Women's tennis isn't just a great competitive, technical, and spectator's sport, it's easily the best auditor's sport of all time.

Pretty sure I was not being the M-word considering I do not identify Mr. Serena Williams as a woman.

My appologies for the confusion

LOL..Wonder how the people you are so rudely speaking for feel now that you made an ass of them via your assumptive ways.

White Knights gonna White Knight I suppose

^^Yes, that as well...GG WP

Not nice tho

It's odd that they gave it to her, when Djoker had an even better year as far as slams are concerned. Given that they play the same sport, a direct comparison is easier than it otherwise would be.

1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd > 1st, 1st, 1st, 3rd

Saying a muscular black woman is a man is definitely misogynsitc and probably racist.

Misogyny comes from the Greek words misos (hatred) and guné (woman) waaaay back mid 17th century.

It means you hate women.

Couple interesting points:

1) I do not hate women
2) Mr. Williams is not a woman in my humble opinion, as stated back thread. Just as I do not think Zoey Tur, Ru Paul and Caitlyn Jenner (among others) are women.
3) The only person that has referenced the color of this young mans skin is you

Not sure how you can make these silly claims of me being racist/misogynisticky

Run along now, enjoyed the chat.
12-19-2015 , 03:34 PM
Wow, you can't even correctly construct a terrible dictionary definition argument to defend your blatant misogyny. You need to work on your game, son.
12-19-2015 , 04:10 PM
I don't know why people still discuss concepts when dictionary makers have made such clearly authoritative decisions on them all.
12-19-2015 , 04:16 PM
Dang, if Serena ain't a woman then I'm coming out of the closet right now!

Nothing to do with white knighting, your joke was just really lame.
12-19-2015 , 09:52 PM
At what point do you just come out and say "yes, I hate women?" What possible credibility are you trying to save by playing the "I'm not anti-women, it's just this woman isn't a woman?"

At least Silverman had the cojones to admit he was a racist taintstain.

indeed she does...

in b4 "you are objectifying her"... no... i'm not... acknowledging that a human being is especially sexually attractive isn't any more objectifying than acknowledging that a human being is especially intelligent...

Do you hate women ? It sure sounds like it.
