Rachael Maddow also looks like a man. See? Women of all races can look like dudes.

When people throw around the race card so haphazardly, you're making it easier for actual racists to push their agenda.

You read this sentence - which describes Donald Trump's actions - and thought I was talking about the hated Clinton Foundation. Again, this makes my point for me, he is so ethically bankrupt that you can't tell the difference between him and his political opponent that you think belongs in jail.
You brought up the Clinton Foundation before he did, with the very tired 'But the Clinton Foundation!' routine.

Like, I agree with so many of your posts Goofyballer and think you are probably a sharp and decent guy, but I can tell you that when people do the "BUT EMAILS!" bit and the like, it is never clever and it is doing a disservice to coming across as a rational, well-reasoned person.

Melania is definately better looking. I would throw it in both for sure. I don't think M Obama looks like a guy. I don't think saying so is necessarily racist.

You think people care what you think! How precious.

I love how the first guy they interviewed snuck in a deplorables reference. Nice touch.

That's the stupidest thing you've said in awhile. How is it different from a white woman? You're a racist for making it racist in your mind.

I think MO looks like a man as well, but i don't think that's an insult. She's obviously in super shape.

This might be a fair point depending on context Dan, but let's look at what actually happened:

You jest, but yes, if he wasn't an ethically bankrupt person he should. People paying vast sums of money to join his Florida clubs and gain access to him is literally pay for play.

The fact that the Clinton Foundation was mentioned in earlier posts does not create any possible reading of this post where one can seriously think I was talking about the Clinton Foundation. He was talking about Trump and I responded still talking about Trump. My followup responses and points to mongo were entirely fair.

Ed Miliband: Donald Trump’s Un-American Refugee Policy

Quote:
Refugees coming to the United States are fleeing the same violent extremism that this country and its allies are fighting in the Middle East and elsewhere. Based on recent data, a majority of those selected for resettlement in America are women and children.
Quote:
Giving haven for those persecuted for their politics is a core American value.
Quote:
The United States can be proud of its wide network of refugee champions, for good reason: Refugee resettlement is an American success story. And this is true not just on the coasts but across the country. In the 29 cities where the Rescue Committee has resettlement offices, elected officials like the mayor of Boise, Idaho, and the governor of Utah, along with police officers, school principals, faith leaders and small-business owners, actively welcome refugees. They do so out of a sense of a moral obligation, of course, but also because they have witnessed the myriad ways refugees have enriched their communities over the years.

To take one example, over the course of a decade, refugees created at least 38 new businesses in the Cleveland area alone. In turn, these businesses created an additional 175 jobs, and in 2012 provided a $12 million stimulus to the local economy.
We already know how history will look upon these actions:

Trump’s initial approval ratings are setting new, unhappy records

Quote:
Excluding transitions that occurred due to resignation or death, there have been three times when a new president has had lower initial ratings than the outgoing one: When George H.W. Bush replaced the very-popular Ronald Reagan in 1989, when Bush’s son replaced Bill Clinton in 2001 — and in 2017. Every other time, the new guy seemed to get more of the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah Goofy, I understand and was saying two separate things. I assume mondo was kind of just trolling you when he asked if you were talking about the Clinton Foundation in the above quoted posted. Or he was somehow actually mistaken in reading your post, but it doesn't matter, you were quite clearly talking about Trump.

I was just addressing this:

If he had brought up the Clinton Foundation independently and originally, then your above point has a lot more merit than it does when it was you who first mentioned the Clinton Foundation mere hours before.

Anyway, minor quibble.

I am honestly on pretty bad tilt today over the immigration freeze, both of course because it is crazy and terrible and likely just the start of some crazy ****.

But it is also affecting me directly as I have a friend it is straight up ****ing up, and I would say more but I think there is a real solid chance it becomes a big news story.

Someone with a green card who's out of the country? That is the most ****ed up part of what is already a very ****ed up thing.

There's someone you're overlooking, of course.

So, yeah, the US has just gone full Nazi, but they kind of did that when the Nazis were actually in business.

Kerowo,

Give it up. No one wants to read you posting that sort of off-topic tripe. No one then wants to read me engaging with you on this aside. So I am not going to do it outside of this response. If you really feel like flaming and attacking me or just need the attention that badly, at least take it to the !!! Bad Posters thread or whatever and foam off all you want, I have a number of hours to kill and will probably even respond and give you the attention you seek. But when you tried this same routine of "Support a liberal just once Dan. Just. Once" the other day, I replied with proof of donating to Bernie, which most adults would consider supporting a pretty big liberal. And your reply? "Yeah, whatever" and you skunked off. Yet here you are again.

So how about either acting like an adult and get a new routine. Or at least take your tired childish act to the /!\ thread if you feel like taking shots.

Yeah, insane. Originally from Iraq, worked here for a number of years, recently married last year, mother passed away a couple months ago and was finally able to go visit family. I do not have all of the details, but yeah not good.

He will be able to take care of himself, but I can only imagine the people who are in worse spots that are also legit scared and confused and just in a way ****tier spot, it is infuriating.

I don't put too much stock into approval ratings, mostly for the same reasons that explain why democracy is ******ed. FDR is considered by the public to be one of the best POTUS' of all time, yet he was a deceitful, vanity obsessed, pathetic cripple.

The ACLU sued and a federal judge issued a stay against Trump's order so it seems like the protests are going pretty great so far. Additionally, the ACLU is drumming up hundreds of thousands of dollars (maybe millions?) in donations today thanks to things like this:

All of that money is going to get spent on fighting the Trump administration.

Thanks for asking, mongo!
