I always imagine Masque to look and sound exactly like Thunderfoot on Youtube.

I really realized the badness of Adios in his chain letter like 'buffet said he can solve the deficit!' thread.

Did I miss the golden age of wil or is it still happening?

There was a phase where he was the unremarkable liberal who people got confused with the libertarian will####, but nowadays, will#### posts more liberal than wil. wil has gone full right wing.

Right after I accepted his black-friends-bet and his come-to-philly challenge in the unarmed thread, which he walked back hard, I took an extended break from posting in politics, so I think I missed the golden age transformation.

Your infatuation with me is amusing.

I've never been right wing, and I think we both know that. The hatred for the fat left grows, though. The left has gone bat**** crazy. It's not like this is news, MrWookie, everyone hates you people.

Yes, I was an unremarkable Liberal, meaning I wasn't in any way extreme in my stances. You guys moved to the crazy left, I stayed where I was. That doesn't make me right-wing.

As I've always said, you're welcome to hit me up when you're here. Well, not you specifically, as I doubt we'd get along, but it's an open invitation.

The real nutty people can disregard. (meaning you)

It's weird how Wil equates becoming the biggest idiot in the forum with infatuation.

Not all attention is good.

LMFAO. One again, and it happens 100% of the time, the anti-PC army claims they are the ones who really care, and if black folk would only listen to their anti-PC wisdom, black folks would be much better off. LMFAO !!!1!

At the risk of upsetting Blades by making a small point. I think Tooth is addressing PCers not 'black folk'. Afaik 'black folk' have the same views about PC as any other non self-selected group of people.
07-25-2016 , 10:02 AM
Where was the doubt as to whom he was addressing?

Pretty sure Trolly is bothered about the content and not the direction.

First, we have a UK vs US language use thingee here perhaps. Here in the US, the term "politically correct" is 100% used as an insult. Nobody here ever says they're pro-PC. You often proclaim yourself pro-PC, and I think most get what you mean, but to us USians it always is going to sound like an extreme "clunker" in conversation. An analogy can be made with the abortion debate. Nobody here ever says they are anti-life or anti-choice or pro-PC.

And no, not even close. I think an experiment using the n-word in a derogatory manner, or referring to adult males as "boy", would have different outcomes depending on the racial mix of the listeners.

The key takeaways as always with these kinda comments is (a) how do they know this shiz? They're making a claim about the real world. Do they have any studies to back up this real world claim? No, of course not. And (b) the condensation and paternalism is off the hook.

It's a response to this view (apologies for using your quote as a template):

It's basically a counterpoint to the demonstrated conceit (and poor outcomes) of the view above, held by many.

It's showing, by direct demonstration, your own conceit and paternalism. I'm glad it's sunken in.

There is no such thing as the PC Army. Just like there aren't any anti-xmas warriors. That's all propaganda. Your formulation here is especially LOLtastical: you've excluded both black folk and white folk from the ranks of this purported army. So PC-ism in the US is what... a plot by Asian-Americans ??

Uh, citation_needed.wtfbbq. Like I said, these kinda comments always make a claim about the real world. Those claims are always pulled right out of the butt.

Why is this? Well anti-PC folks wanna do stuff like call certain men "boy". It just makes them happy. But civil society has passed them by, and now they get corrected. That makes them sad. They wanna argue that things go back to the way things were... but find coming flat out and saying calling certain men "boy" just made them happy only earns them abuse. What's a poor anti-PC folk to do?

Well, it turns out that the goto play is the above: claim they're the one's who "really care", make some completely specious claim that PC-ism actually hurts those who it purports to help, and then patronizingly spew.

It was originally an insult but PC refers to something and you and I (and many here) are definitely pro it while others are against it.

It's nothing like being anti-life which no-one is. We are PC and we are pro PC. There's absolutely no need to be shy about it because some think it has gone mad or is harmful. Language matters.

Sure there is. Political Correctness is anything that falls under the umbrella of criticism of 7 major groups. These groups are females, gays, blacks, then latinos, native americans, the disabled, and recently Muslims. Anything that would criticize them in any way, shape, or form is prohibited, except if they pitted against each other and then there is another pecking order. Islam is more important than Homosexuality. It's a fine line, but it's there. This is universally accepted at this time by both college students and the media.

You'll never see criticism of Islam as a religion itself, or say, BLM, or feminism, by MSNBC or CNN (without such backlash that apologies or firings will occur) or gain any traction on college campuses outside of people like Milo Yiannopoulos or other guest speakers. Even when those speakers may show up, they are disrupted/attacked when giving their talks.

Do you not live in the real world with the rest of us? Or do you selectively pick and choose your news?

Wil the liberal... just another of those really liberal Milo fans.

Also this entire post is ****ing lolworthy, so well done

So you want to be able to criticize gays, blacks, females, latinos and Muslims? Just on their own?

He made a claim. I refuted it with the current political climate and accepted practices. What is the actual issue here, or do you just want to express your feelings or something?

What would make you think this, specifically? Or are you making some sort of blanket statement?
07-25-2016 , 02:39 PM
"I'm not allowed to criticise stuff without people thinking I'm a bigot, and no I don't have any examples of any non-bigoted criticisms"

Eh, more accurate would be 'intellectual curiosity' but we can go with 'infatuation' if you want. You're like the lab rat I fell in love with once.

I want to point out how anti-book-learners are perplexed by the concept of intellectual curiosity, but that feels like low-hanging fruit.

What you're missing is that the so-called PC people and the black people are the same (in an overlapping-in-a-venn-diagram sense).

That's PC as an insult in this context is such a huge tell. It's always something like, in subtext, "See, YOU people and YOUR PC got THOSE people riled up. THEY'd be good and docile negroes without YOUR negative influence."

p.s. edit Shame Trolly covered this
