What was ruffled about my question? You first suggest I have spank angst then I am ruffled while not actually addressing the question or point. Which is why I had you on ignore and why I stopped discussing whatever I previously discussed with you. You are immune to smart criticism so the smart thing to do with engaging with you is to engage entirely on my terms because trying to engage on yours is futile.

My cousin's post here refers to FoldnDark, but I think there is a general point to be made. As it regards bad posting, not modding, I'll comment here. Yeah, this whole line-o-crapola regarding this alleged "shouting down" seems to have run it's course here in Los Dos Politardia.

I'm going to give zikzak credit for pointing this out... but over the course of a few years, certain 'bad arguments' made by certain bad posters have died out. In other words, the basic mindset of us Politards has slowly changed in particular ways.

Several good examples are found in the history of our former ACer infection. The 'statists' in the remnant thread now directly and mercilessly hammer on the underlying contradictions. Six years ago I'm not sure the 'statists' really understood those same contradictions.

Back two years ago when I did my pair of 'Serious Conversations about Race' threads, this whole 'shout down' crap was in full bloom here... long before the SMP invasion. Back then nobody on team #tone_police could come up with even a single example of this 'shouting down', could detail how this is even possible on the interwebs (short of mod action or a DoS attack), could sketch out what these mystical 'serious conversations' might be, would be willing to 'play act' these mystical conversations, or could explain why folks don't just not respond to these alleged 'meanies' anyways.

I don't think it's a matter of 'good arguments' beating out 'bad arguments'. Hardly. I think it's more a matter of certain 'bad arguments' collapsing under the weight of their own internal odiousness.

Lmfao! Declaring victory, as if this were a contest. Claiming a largely successful "serious business" thread of nearly 600 posts (among the top ~90% of threads in PU in volume) is a failure, or that its current dormancy proves some weird, convoluted point is pretty rich.

What conversations do *you* want to have? All you seem to do is comain about the moderation on a politics forum you have no desire to participate in. Do you have any interest in actually talking about politics?

The only person I kicked out was Fly for blatantly trying to shut down the conversation by having a tantrum and making personal attacks like he does. I recall having the meta and meta-meta, and so on (have a feeling you would be a fun poker player) conversation with you a few times, and don't recall ever asking you to go away or anything.

I like talking about politics*. I have participated in many threads in PU, some that are "serious business." Feel free to browse the forum.

In my super serious racism thread, I still plan to get around to adding a chart of "Hierarchy of Racists" with a scale, descriptions and suggested responses/treatments (shame, pity, educate, so on), and ask for input. I don't know how to make charts to post here, so maybe I'll just type it out.
