The educational system is highly dependent on certain variables. Socio economic status would be the best indicator of quality of education, it would seem. Education where I am from is dependent on geography. If you live in a wealthier area that means higher property taxes which means more funding for the school system. If you live in a poorer urban area the school system is horrific. If you have the means to pay for private schooling, the area doesn't have as much of an impact.
In my particular situation the public school options are unacceptable. We chose not to relocate to the suburbs so we opted to pay for private. If we couldn't have paid for private, we would have moved.
The entire system sucks.
