Portugal is number four in the world like the US is number 12

You might wanna mix in a little signal with all your noise there, hoss.

Germany/US just go out and take a nap for 90 minutes and advance on Thursday. USA #1

Your main worry is the threat of Ghana hammering Portugal imo. Germany should win unless they play for the draw, which isn't very much like them.

Unbelievable.

That's why it's not 100 percent. Thought you were a math guy?

Lol no?

Best option for Germany is to pass the ball back and forth with the US at the half line, right?

Of the three teams, why wouldn't they want the US in the round of 16?

Yes, we all know that Keeeeed will be tilted when the States survive the death group, but he'll be straight tilt-tacular when he realizes that the States will be playing Belgium in the round of 16 with a great chance to keep marching on.

USA #1

Bradley is a better midfielder than American fans deserve, but damn, it's so sweet knowing a legion of morons was butthurt after this draw. Glorious times indeed.

Best tweet I saw today (before the game):

"I don't follow soccer but man I hope USA crushes Portland"

the best lolz isn't even watching nationalistic trolls go at each other over a painfully slow game of disingenuous sportsmanship (see endless fake injuries) that can often be ultimately decided by... penalty kicks.

instead, the best lolz is watching endless soccer cultists show their true colors in support of as repugnant an international governing entity as exists on the planet - FIFA. ... here is an organization that blackmails (encourages) nations to build billions in infrastructure (for 3-4 games of use) takes home all the ticket and TV revenue, and leaves municipalities holding the bag, while permanent structures sit empty for decades afterward, and nice turdy reminder for the poverty-stricken locals to get a nice whiff of for the rest of their lives. ... Much the same as with the great Olympics con, there is no hard evidence that games like these ultimately do much of anything for the host nation in question ... one need look no further than Greece in 2004.

But then, yay capitalism, where waste is an essential byproduct to be crossed out as "externality" ... because... growth.

One might make a similar argument about the NFL, the way it holds cities hostage for the privilege of bringing their product to town. I guess the difference is, 1) American football is a vastly superior game, and 2) poverty-line Americans don't riot in the streets (yet) when the owner forces the tax payers to cough up the stadium funds.

You can just say "football"
06-23-2014 , 06:19 AM
I'm not sure who these 'cultist' FIFA supporters are. FIFA draw enormous amounts of hatred from football fans, and rightfully so.
06-23-2014 , 06:23 AM
Well Jiggz said "soccer cultists" not "FIFA cultists". You guys support FIFA by making it the most-watched sports event in the world.

And the NFL stadiums are much less egregious because they'll get 150+ uses compared to 4 like that abomination that the US played in yesterday.

You said it, brother. The Hulkster's never seen a match with some much fakery. No True American should be watching soccer, except when the US of A is winning.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in this post?
Professional wrestler bemoaning fakery in sport... #potkettleblack
