Both sides are extremely guilty of use of alternative facts. And the reason the leadership gets away with it is because people let them. People on both sides are guilty of, knowingly, pushing "alternative facts".

I see truth as a sacrifice to social cohesion, the significant, long term effects of this now emergent. The fact is people, and this includes you, spank, cannot comprehend the horror of the truth so they let themselves be part of a lie. How could we go on if we faced certain truths? What are we going to do? Sacrifice for the next generations if we faced the truth about the environment? lol right. Nothing can impinge on our lifestyles, so any truth which threatens that is to be ignored. What about the truths about the Clinton's and their abject criminality? If we were to face that then that makes us all dupes, doesn't it? Better hide that truth too. And whenever you cover up a truth, a lie is required. And so on and so on.

Now we have lied ourselves into having a devout white supremacist fascist in the whitehouse. Is anyone really even facing that truth? But Trump is sort of like a breath of fresh air in that one regard. He and his people are so bad at lying it's almost as if they are honest all the time.

It appears that there are some cracks showing up in the Trump propaganda, exposing how the Trump regime really feels about Jews. Early on Trump flashed some true leanings, but seemed to correct them pretty quickly. It was such a marked reversal, such abrupt backpedaling, that it probably should have been seen for the ruse that it was.

There is a bit of a split in the white supremacist community regarding Jews. For the overwhelming majority of white supremacists, Jews are the number one obsession and target. And that focus has increased dramatically in recent years with the increasing popularity of theories blaming Jews of creating/enforcing of the broader diversity programs. However, there is a faction which regards Ashkenazi Jews as basically white Europeans who should be welcomed in the community. The ideological differences and the history of the internal back-and-fourth on the issue of white supremacists accepting Jews is well documented by the ADL. For a minute, I was classifying Trump and his people as in that group of white supremacists who wanted to accept Jews. But I think that the pro-Jewish facade has served it's purpose in getting Trump elected and now Bannon is, perhaps out of hubris, signaling his true aims.
