How Do Neo-Nazis Feel About The Man in the High Castle How Do Neo-Nazis Feel About The Man in the High Castle

I was watching season 2 of MitHC last night, and I got to wondering how neo-Nazis/white supremacists feel about the show. Obviously the creators are intended to portray a Nazi America as a bad place, but on the other hand, it does have a lot of SS members as characters, even somewhat sympathetic characters. Anyways, it seems to me like an interesting case study in the media portrayal of the far right vs their self-conception. Do Nazis hate the show because they think it portrays their ideology unfairly, or do they view it kind of wistfully? Or is Man in the High Castle actually their version of The Grasshopper Lies Heavily?

Politics version 7.0 posters, please share your thoughts and experiences on this question.

Personal request - please try to avoid spoilers without tags.

Slight derail but does anyone think with the current climate in Hollywood that we might ever see a quality picture from the view of someone in the Wehrmacht? Not SS guys but your average soldier? I'd love a movie about the grunts in the later stages of the war.

Eastwood did a nice one about the Japanese soldier.

I'm also fascinated about what went on in the minds of the average soldier, from all sides. But Hollywood is afraid to make those.

Is that because of the way it depicts the Reich or what?

Generation War was fantastic but it was a German made film. The series was highly criticized outside of Germany for being too sympathetic to ordinary German soldiers without depicting the horrors of the death camps etc. Most of the critics on Rotten Tomatoes loved it though and normal folk almost universally loved it ( giving it 60%, 90% respectively).

Very clever chap, but if you want to perform a neo-nazi mole hunt, I'm one step ahead of you. HA!

Just before I clicked on this thread I thought that Das Boot would be my other pick that would somewhat meet your criteria. Although not Hollywood, it was loved by critics worldwide and it depicted every day German soldiers.

Don't know about movies but I thought Twilight of the Gods was a good book. It was written by a Waffen SS guy from Sweden, but its all about continuous combat, not concentration camps or anything.

I love Dick's work almost as much as Bradbury. Now I wish I had never seen the show. I see that Dick got the Hugo award for the book, but now that I've seen the show, I'll never read the book.
I've read most of Dick's shorts. When Dick is short it's great. Now I wish I had absorbed Dick with some more length.

Yes, it's always nice to absorb some lengthy Dick.

Alternate history Sci-Fi drama doesn't seem to serve any of their modern fronts. The fact it's a product of open-mindedness and creativity from a world which includes diversity and inclusivity doesn't complement them.

Spoiler:
The character of an on-the-fence young nazi with a conscience is disruptive.

Obviously the same way they feel about American history x. They don't really like it but there are parts of the show they can masterbate to. They wish it was real.
