Right-wingers, tell us how awesome this is and how it will resolve all our problems in Afghanistan.

Washington (CNN)The US military has dropped an enormous bomb in Afghanistan, according to four US military officials with direct knowledge of the mission.

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed MOAB, was dropped at 7 p.m. local time Thursday, the sources said.
The MOAB is also known as the "mother of all bombs." A MOAB is a 21,600-pound, GPS-guided munition that is America's most powerful non-nuclear bomb.
The bomb was dropped by an MC-130 aircraft, operated by Air Force Special Operations Command, according to the military sources.
They said the target was an ISIS tunnel and cave complex as well as personnel in the Achin district of the Nangarhar province.
The military is currently assessing the damage. Gen. John Nicholson, commander of US forces in Afghanistan, signed off on the use of the bomb, according to the sources. Authority had to be sought from Gen. Joseph Votel, commander of US Central Command.
This is the first time a MOAB has been used in the battlefield, according to the US officials. This munition was developed during the Iraq War.

Also, speaking of bombs, some would argue that the middle east should have been turned into a glass parking lot back in the late 70s when this bs with the lol"radical" islamists started gaining more widespread international attention.

"If only we had committed the genocide of some hundred million people when we had the chance" is a take so hot only nuclear weapons could achieve it.

Yes, some would argue that. Do you argue that?

This is why we elected Trump. He will allow his generals to get things done. This did the job that would have taken thousands of soldiers to do. This sends a message to Russia, Iran, North Korea etc.

You won't see the usual far left spammers participating in this thread because they know their ex wimpy president would have preferred to send hundreds if not thousands of soldiers to their deaths. I think they are also sensing the winning shift in the decisive Trump policies.

This is called leading from the front.

True. Isis has been destroyed as promised and we will be out of Afghanistan leaving it a stable democracy in no time.

If only we had thought of dropping some bombs the last 15 years none of this would have ever happened!

The mission in Afghanistan is to make sure terrorists don't have a safe haven. They didn't under Bush. The terrorist turned Afghanistan into their own Jihad resort during the Obama years.

Now the world is run by President Donald Trump. There will be no place to hide. You ever here of something called "the rule of law"?

mongo, what will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict?

This has already been a horrible long term conflict. This is just a message to the world that the US has its's muscle back and it will use it.

But if Trump attacks Syria and innocent civilians are hurt and killed, he and the U.S. will look very bad.

Innocent people are being killed daily. Perhaps less innocent people will be killed if Trump takes action.

and america wonders why literally every other country on earth hates them so much.

We really dont wonder...

I am always surprised there is not more hate.

Trump must now start focusing on the US, jobs, healthcare and all of its many problems. Forget Syria.

It's the Americans who are so full of hate, hence dropping bombs all over. Our economic system breeds hatred. Americans are very mean and hateful compared to the rest of the world.

Violence tends to induce violence in response. When people are attacked they look towards the violent ones on their side to deal with the threat. People in the ME don't see something like that and think "You know what? I actually will get in line and give my wealth to the West with the efficiency they deserve." No. Instead they think "We've got to get those bastards back, and violence is the only thing they understand".

So Trump's lifelong quest for gratification without sacrifice now has the U.S. military to toy with. That's just ****ing great.

There are only 13 of these bombs left and were built by the military so no stock to buy, dammit!
04-14-2017 , 05:02 AM
If no innocent people died , like the military has claimed, during this bombing then I dont see the problem.

However I am very dubious about this claim then I guess we will have to wait for further details.

On a side not I was actually quite surprised but pleased to see that many of Trumps republican acolytes condemn him for his bombing of Syria.

I find it hard to believe that a bomb of this magnitude could be set off anywhere without killing at least a few innocents. I find it easy to believe that Tiny Hands Trump and his tiny hands followers don't care about that.

Yes thats why I said I was dubious.

And I know it doesnt fit in with your narrative but alot of his most ardent supporters during the election did seem pissed at him for the bombing of Syria.

I don't wonder. They are jealous. It's because they live in a stinky third world rat hole. The funny thing is they all want to come here. They're all butthurt about Trumps immigration bans. Why would you want to come to a country you hate so much?

The irony is they are the ones who invite the terrorists into their country. They give them their safe haven to plan their next attack.Guess who has to come in and save the day?
