It's arguable that gender studies is a job skill as Black Peter's post seems to indicate.

I still don't really care if very few job ads have "Must have background in German Idealism" or "17th Century Art History REQUIRED" in them. It's still good to have a society that studies it and considers it worth studying.

First, I'd much rather take those classes to gender studies, which sounds like a snoozefest. Second, what about the shmuck who's stuck with a student loan who could put that on his resume, and it wouldn't help pay back the student loan? This is part of why a degree is less practical than it use to be.

We're faced with the problem of monetising education and then judging its value only in terms of direct economic return. That's what I reject. If people can't study without it being a huge burden and net negative on their lives then that's a problem that needs some serious improvements.

That's fine and dandy until your elites accidentally make a student bubble, and everyone else has to deal with the real world, because of your lack of understanding of the mechanics of change, Ludwig von Mises, German idealism and all that, which I could put on my resume minus the tab to the banking class.

As long as people have such disparate backgrounds, there will always be some element of "luxury" to higher education. Even with free education, some will have issues funding their rent/food while they learn, even with grants for basic living costs some will not be able to forego three years of earnings to support a family. But all of this comes down to attempting to level the playing field even earlier in the lives of the youth.

juan vadez- the idea that I'm lacking in social skills is incorrect. the idea that I might be a little bit crazyh is um lessincorrect. I know I haven't posted ijna month but I very interested in correcting your posts. I just simply havenmt had time. my entire life for the last year has been in the do I delegate it drop it zone and obviously 2p2 is the first to be dropped especially considering how people treat intelligent posters here.

Obviously due to my social skills which have been top notch since my court ordered "social etiquette" class.

interestingly enough, the personality psychologist breaks down this maternal behavior in the 3rd video. he goes in to more depth in other interviews but its a great summary here

the other thing this highlights is how do you combat groups who keep moving forward and infringing on basic rights as free speech? well you have to speak up and cite actual facts and resort to actual scientific methodology. well what if that method gets shut down due to it not being PC? well thats just dangerous. the failure to understand this is a serious problem

Yes... we all need to be retrained on how we should view the world. Maybe they will line us up at gunpoint and put us through courses on how to perceive the world.

Truly scary stuff.

Can someone please succinctly describe the complaints against gender studies?

In general, that people are forced to use language in a manner that other people deem appropriate. Especially so when legal repercussions are involved.

in short videos i have posted here, the professor suggests "read the damm websites" to which nobody has done and many SJW's have come in to blindly argue the validity of gender studies. i was even banned without warning for calling it unscientific nonsense in the politics forum

a general basis is that gender is a social construct and it completely dismisses the prominence of biology. basic and obvious biology. its in other videos posted itt. studies about gender differences in the selection of profession, interests, behavior, etc that clearly show the key factor is biological, not a social construct. also look up the patriarchy and how the current state of feminism feels about it

personality and evolutionary psychologists are even compelled to believe that testosterone levels in men are a very powerful predictor in where they fall in the political spectrum and of course the likelihood of incarceration. that is based on some research their masters students conducted. again biology isn't important to the gender studies programs, its all a social construct. this theory is just an absurd contradiction to obvious and fundamental biology that is the foundation of peoples behavior. try building an entire philosophy on a completely and obviously false foundation and see how weird things get. so think about how weird things have got and watch the first video i posted today. think about the consequences and think about the hubris it takes to go down this road with such incomplete and unfounded "science"

That Jordan Peterson video with Joe Rogan is the nuts and should be listened to in its entirety multiple times. Even if you don't agree with him, his points are very well thought out, especially the role of religion in society towards the end, where he raises many points that I do not think many people really considered before.

agreed. when i suggest people a time stamp to make a point i just find myself wanting to make it longer and longer to the point where its going way past most people attention span. people really do need to watch the whole thing. i think its extremely valuable to formulate an organized pov of things in high resolution

another fantastic interview is with jordan peterson and gad saad. shorter and very interesting analysis relating psychology, biology, and political behavior

2.5 hours is long.

I'll take a listen to the religion part. Does he equate it to social cohesion? I've been rethinking my position on atheism. Not whether I'm correct, because I AM correct, but if it's good to spread it.
