I had to look up what "throwing shade" meant, I would take it as "throwing attitude", if I'm interpreting this incorrectly let me know. That being said:

I was explicit in explaining I don't care what anyone else does, if they want to read every book about a topic before discussing it, that's fine by me. I take issue with people disregarding another person's opinion on a topic based on how many, or which books they may or may not have read on it. It's a meaningless point. Reading a particular book doesn't mean anything or invalidates another person's position.

It's just a dumb thing to bring up.

Its really amazing that you are going on and on about this. I don't listen to music and I don't watch TV, outside of a specific show or sporting events, either. TBF having the luxury of enough time to thumb through books is pretty enviable. After school I've been working 60 hour weeks and attending to domestic ****. I've got an hour or two after the kid goes down at night at which point book reading A) would put me to sleep and B) would have to replace much desired time alone with my wife after the MiL and baby sleep.

There is time on the weekends though I guess, but I just haven't prioritized that for a couple years. Grazing on online news / media / forum has sufficed.

I haven't got a book app yet, but I've been listening to podcasts now for a couple years. So much good stuff out there. I recommend Hardcore History with Dan Carlin. There's also TED talks, 60 minutes, lots of political shows and what not. I drive a lot and it makes the time fly.

Breitbart has become my new go to news site for American media. The reason is that they are the only ones reporting about the lunacy going on in our country. American leftists probably dismiss most of their news stories as propaganda, but I can assure what I have read there so far about Sweden has all been true.

Before I ask my question, I have to know if you are swedish?

I am born in Sweden, Irish father Finnish mother. Grew up in one of the first immigrant areas of Sweden, moved out as a 12yo. Today that area is counted as a 'no go zone'.

I don't go there for first hand information, I am just curious about what is written about Sweden abroad. Other American media doesn't seem to be too interested.

OK, then I want to get a question off my chest - how are swedish men allowing things like this to happen? Just do some background, here in America it is downright dangerous to disrespect women openly. If a man walked around and slapped a woman's butt that was just walking down then street there is a good chance that random, unknown men would come to that woman's defense, very likely with violence.

Does that not happen in Sweden?

I don't think Swedish men are too different in that regard, when sexual harassment happens in plain sight we do react.

I do think that Swedish women likely do report sexual harassment more often than in the US, also rape has a broader definition. However most of the dramatic increase in sexual crimes over the last few decades have other explanations..
