Can I instead ask you to start a new thread on the gender wage gap. I don't think we should be moving stuff out of a !!!thread too much but once you start one it should take off if people want to discuss it.

You can always copy a few salient posts into it to get it started

The whole wage gap lunacy has been debunked.

Has anybody brought up the point that guy's pay for virtually everything on dates? In fact, many women will allow men to buy them drinks at clubs, knowing full well they aren't gonna leave with them.

In this revelation about mong we are shocked to learn that women accept his offers of drinks but don't want to sleep with him.

Wow, this thread has taken a highly offensive turn and has continued to wander off the rails.

Offensive posts stereotyping women are not allowed in this forum. Not allowed in Content threads and not allowed in !!! threads.

I am now going to delete a ton of offensive posts.

Timeouts will be issued if this type of posting continues.

It should be noted that many posts responding to or quoting the offensive posts were also deleted in the clean-up in an attempt to entirely remove this offensive sub-thread.

The same is true for a man being born handsome. Or talented. Or smart. Where are you posts about how unfair that is? Oh, right. You hate women.

deleting this as "highly offensive" is absolutely absurd. the problem with censoring things that are "highly offensive" is that who decides what is "highly offensive"? well in this case it turns out someone that is completely clueless. or someone who imo has a feeble understanding of the material.... which is kind of important for someone who believes they should be moderating political discussion
I think your highly offensive posts should be allowed to stay.

Quote:
are you suggesting that being born beautiful isn't a real thing? theres no such thing or consensus on beauty? the success of playboy magazine for example is just random?
What exactly are you whining about here?

Quote:
are you suggesting that women that are born beautiful don't have completely different experiences and advantages? that doesnt exist?
Hey, stupid: all attractive people have different advantages and experiences.

Quote:
what on earth has you so confused or offended? its absolutely absurd that you feel qualified to moderate political discussion, never mind a thread marked to have less restrictions this way
You have an unattractive worldview. Maybe people don't want to see it?

Sounds like guys have poor negotiating skills.

Lol.

I'll let you buy me a drink at the club too. It's not my fault that you'd be dumb enough to think I'd want to go home with you.

The fact that you think being born smart isn't an advantage is hardly surprising.

i agree. point where i suggest otherwise?

we were talking about a gender wage gap. aka filtering by gender. are you suggesting that the advantages of beauty are the same for men and women while simultaneously posting charts and graphs of men having more money? just think about that for a second

also it is absolutely absurd that very post you quoted was just deleted. i mean what the actual eff? i can't even comprehend how the contents can be considered offensive and need to be censored? i highly recommend moderators review the deleted posts and discuss how things should be moderated and then evaluate competency

I think it's a greater advantage. If someone is good-looking and dumb, then they just get used. It's the smart ones who can take advantage of what they have.

Plus the brain continues to work long after the looks fade.

Cliffs: I would rather be born smart than handsome.

I'm saying they aren't equivalent at all, which is why I said your post was so absolutely stupid.

I think you'd be surprised how many people who are smart and ugly would respond.

Quote:
A handsome man is poised to make 13 percent more during his career than a “looks-challenged” peer, according to calculations in Hamermesh’s recent book, Beauty Pays. (Interestingly, the net benefit is slightly less for comely women, who may make up the difference by trading on their looks to marry men with higher earning potential.) And some studies have shown that attractive people are more likely to be hired in a recession.
Handsome men have a better boost in earnings than beautiful women. lol wiljuan

If some posts with actual substance were deleted in the recent clean-up, that is an unintended consequence of requiring a bulldozer to clean up a mess.

Accordingly, if anyone wants to have a serious discussion on the gender wage gap, they are encouraged to start a new thread. Of course, it makes no sense for this important topic to be shoe-horned into a !!! thread on Milo in the first place.

You guys were lecturing us on how lucky attractive women are. How is the gender distinction relevant to that discussion? It isn't.

Next you're going to complain about all these women walking around with a pancreas. Lucky ducks!

being beautiful has advantages. check

being a beautiful man has advantages. check

being a beautiful woman has advantages. check

being a beautiful woman has different advantages than being a beautiful man...... omg.... head.... explode

wtf?

Explaining how life works to people gets really old. It's so stupid that we even have to have this discussion. We could literally get into an argument about whether children like candy or not and if it's a social construct. So dumb.

youre over simplifying and using personal bias imo (which is fine)

i think most people would want to import whatever they are lacking. think about it. unless you are deficient in something, its not a big concern to you or something you want to change

i don't know if really smart people are any more happy than really beautiful people. thats a hard test to conduct but if theres research out there, id definitely like to see it
