Lets not let a few bad choices of words made about McCain steer us away from the bigger picture. I am just as angry about his comments as the next but what alternatives do we have at this point? This is something we need to recognize. I am sure that we can all agree that this election will likely determine the fate of our nation, and I see it as irresponsible for us to denounce a man who has the ability to pull us out of the pits that obama put us in over something he said.

This is correct. Voter turnout was INSANE for obama in 08, and republican turnout was garbage in 12. I think this next election will be quite interesting. I don't foresee dem turnout being anything like it was before, especially with hillary.

More seriously, a lot of people would vote for him knowing it was more likely than not he would be a bad president. Because they think they are getting good pot odds, given their bad circumstances and the feeling that they have little to lose.

Honestly I thought my statement of "close the thread" would be taken in humor. Obviously I'm not the mod, and I'm not actually saying "close the thread" when I stated afterwards that it made me laugh.
