That would be quite an extreme conspiracy theory. That Trump, a Top Performer himself, would be willing to be the sacrificial lamb, so that some other Republican could get the glory of President. I don't see the Donald thinking that's such a great idea really.

This thread is already past my threshold for silly PU stuff, but I do want to lol at Trump saying John McCain isn't a war hero today. That's high political comedy right there.

I do find it interesting what his hidden political agendas may possibly be, which is why I mentioned some of theories I have read here ITT.

Hey, did you hear the huffpost moved his coverage from the politics section to entertainment?
i didn't put much thought into the comment. but there is is a similarity in that nobody seems to have a clear understanding of who trump really is or what he's trying to accomplish.

Twits at the Huff and blind as bats. All politicians should be in the entertainment section - right next to Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga.

What if Trump is someone who is sincere and thinks he is being profound, without any hidden agendas?

Makes sense. Rand Paul, for example is the Dane Cook of politics, the douchebag with the douchebag fan base, as intellectual as Cook is funny.

This is pretty much what I think is most plausible. Trump intending to be straightforward is kind of the only way I could relate to him. He has been straight forward about stuff which is pretty much opposite where I stand. He wants to build a border wall and I would have no problem with a wide open border, for example. Plus his bigoted generalizations are crap.

Genuine straight forwardness would make him an enigma in the field. 'Telling it like it is' is easy to say, but often hard for a politician to actually do. Some people just don't expect it.

Trump can tell how he thinks 'it is' with more abandon since he is not a typical politician.

Trump is taking some heat over the McCain comments, but people seem to like how he blows through some PC issues--like comedians are allowed to do. Most people wouldn't dream of disparaging war hero John McCain, because there's a stigma, but on some level that can be paralyzing, and people like the idea that they don't have to walk on egg shells around John McCain, just because he has war hero cred. Trump was hitting on that factor, I think, despite perhaps being literally wrong to pick at McCain that way.

What the **** are you talking about? Who are these "people" that you seem to know the souls of?
07-19-2015 , 05:45 PM
You seem upset.
07-19-2015 , 05:47 PM
You seem stupid.
07-19-2015 , 05:50 PM
Let's stay on topic, please. The topic of this thread is Donald Trump for the President.
07-19-2015 , 05:55 PM
So who are these "people" that are on board with Trump being a dick because of reasons?
07-19-2015 , 06:02 PM
The people that support him, despite his choice of words. Clearly some people do support him, so it's fair to guess at why people like the Trump.
07-19-2015 , 06:09 PM
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Some people will back Trump when he is being a dick, so long as he is being a dick to the right people.

It's similar to PU forum drama where some posters seem to support one side in a conflict based on who they are in conflict with.

It seemed like Iowa was liking him, until the McCain comment.

Spoiler:

Trump interviewed by Martha Raddatz on This Week today:

I hate to say it, but in the face of a pretty aggressive interview, Trump was able to hold his own and do some expert deflection ("McCain hasn't done anything for veterans!"). This is an impressive performance for a non-professional politician. He must be spending a lot of time with top-notch advisers.

Trump could win.

I'm not really interested in following anything political because the energy goes to waste in the end. The political system is broken and so far from perfect that using ones energy in medical, technical or education is more rational at this current point in time.

Yet, this new season of who is going to become President of the United States is sure to be entertaining. Business man who will be damned if he fails at anything he commits to, going up against politicians that train in front of a mirror with spinning a topic any which way; making them appear correct to the majority of idiots that will drive out and vote.

Well, if you honestly believe that, he's 40/1 and higher on betting sites.

He's got no shot. He's a cartoon character that is amusing for now, but will continue to run off at the mouth and drive voters away. Hilary has a 49% unfavorable rating at large, and she's about as polarizing as you can be. Trump is at 61%.

OTOH, if you just substitute "Trump" for "s**t" in pretty much any situation, it's surprising satisfying.

I wasn't looking where I was walking and stepped in a pile of dog Trump
No matter how many times I flushed the Trump bobbed back to the surface
He's got Trump for brains....

Yes... herd mentality, which is a serious affliction here.

The good news is if Trump gets the nomination Ikes loses a prop bet and gets permad.

One.

Time.

Hillary seems out of touch. Her best zinger at a recent Arkansas talk was, "Trickle-down economics has to be one of the worst ideas of the 1980s. It is right up there with New Coke, shoulder pads and big hair." Wah wahhh.

She also jabbed at Trump about his hair saying "finally, a candidate whose hair gets more attention than mine." That might have hurt, except it was she who made her hair an issue in the first place, when she said back in May, "I've been coloring my hair for years. So, you're not going to see me turn white in the White House." So Hillary raises her hair first, which nobody cared about, and then tries to parlay it into a substantial attack on Trump? Total psycho. The fact alone that Hillary can't get shoulder pads and hair coloring out of her regular thought process ought to disqualify her.
