I'm sure nobody has been keeping score... but I lowered myself into being a Politard back c2010. Up through 2012 I was a RWA. In 2013 I 'became' both an ACer && Shame Trolly !!!1!. But ever since 2014-1-1 what I 'am' here in Los Dos Politardia is a Neo-Gorean.

So... go ahead, ask me anything... about Neo-Goreanism, or my personal journey to becoming today's Shame Trolly !!!1!: the Neo-Gorean.
Do you kill monsters and steal their gold? What about magic items?
Naw... there's no magic, and very few monsters, in the Gor novels... and certainly none in the Neo-Gorean ideology.

Well... in a Neo-Gorean society, battery using devices would all be sealed black-boxes. Individual batteries would be considered contraband munitions, enforced by summary execution.
In today's world you should be using rechargeables.
Different devices put different stresses and loads on batteries, and effect their ability to hold a charge, and be recharged, in a rather magical and unpredictable manner. Finding a rechargeable that 'works best' with the particular device and recharger is mainly a matter of trail and error. That battery won't necessarily be name-brand or more expensive.
That being said... in practice the name-brand rechargables most likely turn out to be the ones that 'work best'.

Man, doing these AMA threads is always such hard work. This is the first question I got last time I started one...

Now, in a Neo-Gorean society you wouldn't have a choose of video game platforms. In fact, I really can't imagine that there would be a separate category of video game platforms to begin with. Regardless... you'd just go down to the local temple, tithe appropriately, and pick up the latest PK-14.
In today's world, assuming they both cost about the same, I'd pick whichever one comes in the smallest shipping box.

Spoiler:
Assassins of Gor featured gladiator like racing on mounted birds as a plot device.

The 1968 Cup final was the first final to be televised live in colour. Both teams wore away strips, with Everton wearing bright amber shirts and blue shorts and West Bromwich Albion in white shirts and shorts with red socks. The first substitute to be used in an FA Cup final was Dennis Clarke for West Bromwich Albion.
Albion won the cup for the fifth time and in doing so qualified for the 1968–69 European Cup Winners' Cup...
Man, you'll never run out of libertarian types to make fun of, that one is for sure :-)

What is the difference between Goreanism and Neo-Goreanism? Why the split?
Well, formally Gorean is a science fiction spin-off of LTism, and as practiced is a BDSM subculture.
Neo-Goreanism is a political ideology which would implement the 'Gorean Way'... except stripped of the 'faith based' aspects of LTism, the science fiction aspects of Goreanism, and would be agnostic to the BDSM subculture.
So it is basically a patriarchal cast system with cast based code of conducts, where stones prove property rights? Sorry, I have to little imagination here.

With the quibble that Home Stones symbolize/implement instead of 'prove'... yeah you've basically got it. Were you familiar with the Gor novels previous to this thread?

Lol, yeah, I was a horny teenager once:-)
I actually love novels that make you think about your current societies structure, so I kinda really like them. Did not read all of them though. Do you think they are just ridiculous?
I'm afraid to ask what this means... I'll just answer 'no'.

Looking at the world in the 'Gorean Way' is like removing a pair of muddy tunnel-vision goggles, and finally seeing the big picture clearly with your own eyes.
Like I said, Gorianism proper is very much Libertarian-Type. Although Neo-Gorianism rejects the 'faith-based' aspects of LTism, it does share the same core moral values... like embracing slavery.

... Neo, vanilla, etc?
A quick Google of "Neo, vanilla, etc?" comes up confused.
However, to elaborate... slavery in a Neo-Gorean society would be absolute chattel slavery. It would not be predicated on race, etc... anyone can potentially be enslaved (or been born a slave). Although males can and would be enslaved, for both traditional and structural reasons slaves would primarily be females.
Do they have ice cream in Gorean? If so, What kind? I like orange sherbet.
The fictional planet of Gor seems to have widely different flora, so maybe not, as there might not be any oranges. But they got Black Wine (coffee) so fictionally... maybe ??
A Neo-Gorean society would exist here in reality, and on earth. So sure... orange sherbet is a given.
Well, mark the date & time: 2014-7-10 9:15 AM PDT... by being the very first person to express desire to found a Neo-Gorean society... You are officially the founder the Neo-Gorean Cyber-Movement !!!1!
So... by mentioning a 'sign-up'... are you advocating the organization of something like a Gorean Party, or NGO advocacy group?
