you wouldn't think a company would accept a $143 Amex deposit and charge you $150 and change either and then give you the runaround when it comes to a refund.
I confirmed with Amex, I have no foreign transaction fees on my card. They clearly stated, we charge you what the company charges you.
You would think it would be less hassle than 2 emails and a 30-minute phone call to resolve this, but yet, here I wait, although my situation was escalated 24 hours ago. the original deposit was on May 3rd. They very promptly responded, "hey, show us proof on your credit card statement."
I did, this was the email that followed the email I sent with proof(in an attempt to get my $7.50 refund): We hope this email finds you well, It's a pleasure for us to assist you.

Neat response! that's what led to the phone call, in which i received:
We hope this emails finds you well, It's a pleasure for us to assist you.
We are sorry about the latest email, it was en error from our end, please be aware that your case has been escalated so the dept in charge can solve this ASAP.
So, as stated, I am staying patient and I am curious to see how this get's resolved. But the overcharge in the first place, followed by this customer service, circus!
