WPN - Sends Bad Check from Frozen Bank Account WPN - Sends Bad Check from Frozen Bank Account

02-23-2017 , 04:03 PM
Pretty straight forward here. Requested a withdrawal from WPN, came in roughly 5 business days. Deposited check NBD.....a week or so later I see that the money has been removed from my bank account (with a nice $12 fee for cashing a bad check)

Call my bank, they tell me that the check was denied because the account that the check was written from is frozen.

Way to go WPN. If I had it all over again, I would have never made a deposit on your site to begin with.

Buyer beware!!!

If you would like to give me your nickname on the site for me to investigate i am more than happy to do so

Always deposit your checks and do not cash them.. In the online poker world, receiving checks from poker sites occasionally bounce. WPN should make things right and also reimburse you the fee incurred by your bank as long as you show them proof.

That's where i'm at now. Unfortunately i'll need to wait for my bank to send me the bad check before I can follow up with WPN. Just doesn't inspire confidence to play further on the site.

Just wondering, if I did take the check to a currency exchange or something and cash it, what would have happened?

So you dont want me to investigate?

Winning - Thanks for your offer, however I've already contacted WPN and my bank. Unless you can add something beyond what is already known I don't think your help is needed at this time.

Well it depends on what you know. I may know a little more ...

just trying to help!!

98% chance they wouldn't cash it. Six years of lurking/perusing these threads and can only offhand remember 3, 4 at most, posters stating they had cashed a poker check somewhere other than a bank.

Uhh...why would you request a check when you can cashout using bitcoin? You're own fault for being an idiot

LOL thanks vorcybl. How old are you? 17? I'd suggest learning the difference between your/you're before attempting to insult someone. I'm sorry someone pissed in your cheerios.

@Winning, my ticket is CNZ-660-91037. If you could help expedite i'd appreciate it. I'm just looking to have the funds back into my account so I can withdrawal using BC

This is industry standard for US online poker. It will happen on rare occasion, but also inevitably, on sites like Merge, Ignition, Chico, and WPN. Accept it and be patient while the site sends you a new check, start using bitcoin, or gtfo of the market.

Welcome to post Black Friday Online Poker in the US

I can certainly understand your frustration but no matter which site you switch to it will happen occasionally on all sites to a select few unlucky players who request checks, fortunately it's pretty rare overall on WPN and on the rest of the sites but it is inevitable unfortunately

I would highly recommend bitcoin moving forward. The last year or so of Bitcoin withdrawals have been a blessing compared to what we've known since black friday, it wasn't too long ago that waiting 6 weeks for a check on certain sites was the standard

If you are really upsets you enough, then consider contacting your representatives to show your support for regulated online poker

Same thing happened to me. Fwiw this is the first time after numerous deposits. WinningTD I sent you a PM.

Still waiting on WPN. Received plenty of auto responses telling me how I should cash my checks, but no actual response to my issue. The copy of the check that was mailed back to me from my bank was sent on Friday 2/24. Since WPN isn't very proactive it's up to me to keep calling to find out when i'll get my money back. I'm not even asking them to write another check. I just want the funds back in my WPN account to cash out via BC.

Was also told that I won't even be notified when the funds are returned. I'm just supposed to check my account and hope they magically appear.

Horrible customer service WPN. WPN clearly doesn't see this as a priority, they spring into action if you're not able to deposit but if you have an issue cashing out be prepared to wait because they don't see this as a high priority issue.

Funds magically appeared. No email or follow up. All is well that ends well but very poor communication from ACR

I cant speak for that but the money is back in your account.

I know its a pain but the most important thing is you have the money back.
