The World Series of Jackpots The World Series of Jackpots

I asked this question when these first started and I don't believe anyone from WPN answered. Normally I would just assume that they would keep running until the prize money is gone but now I am not so sure. If WPN drops these as soon as the main event starts without a jackpot prize hitting to me equates to stealing. I hope this turns out not to be the case.

This is why it's unfortunate that it was never explained clearly. There are going to be a lot of players that feel the same way, even though it's wrong.

Sorry but could you clarify please. Do you mean it would be wrong to shut these down without a jackpot hitting or that the players would be wrong in feeling that they were cheated out of money. If the latter could you explain why please and thanks.

It would be wrong for players to feel cheated. It's not a progressive jackpot where the losing money goes into a pool.

There's plenty of reason to be upset about these games (finally a good player pool in a SNG game and then it's split by these -- their lack of grindabilty, the potential for damaging the site's image and losing players, and so on. Being cheated is not one of them (assuming it's not rigged).

That's fine but then should these type of games be lumped in with all of the other casino games? I mean these are being sold as form of poker and not a slot machine. Please understand I am not disagreeing or trying to pick a fight with you but for WPN not to be very clear on this topic especially since it was brought up at the very beginning is ver, very wrong.

I have to agree with you for the $3 games. The bankroll required for those and the number of games you would have to play to insure profitability is just silly, so they shouldn't really be in the poker client. That said, there is an argument for closer integration of casino with poker in order to draw casino players into poker. Not saying I agree with that, but just that an argument can be made. In this particular case, I don't like it because the regular jackpots were very new and already filling that role.

$3 WSOPs were too small for how many you would have to play and $30 WSOPs were a terrible idea considering most would just play $40s where the top prize is $100k even not chopped is a decent prize for 2nd and 3rd and all the other cash prizes someones draws along the way.

Congrats to the 3 lucky winners!

Yeah good for NoahSD's, that's just what the site needed was a high stakes cash game reg taking one of the packages instead of a rec or low stakes player. lol

The only reason I was playing the $3 ones was because the $30s weren't running and I had somewhere to be in a half an hour.

Just for the record i wasn't saying it was fishy... I was asking if the previous poster thought it was fishy. Hence the question mark. Not my style to throw the rig card out. I only bitch about the software improvement thread.

no offense to either of those three guys, but if they were playing $3 JP sngs(assuming it wasn't their first one) and buyin to the ME with the 12k that was awarded to them, in cash, then they are fools.

I am not a fool. I actually clicked the wrong jp. I am going to be out of town next week. I can't play. Wish I could. Well maybe not, I am not that good. My stats are not positive roi. So the idea of navigating 6200 players to get in the money? Probably keep my cash and try lower stakes tourneys. But I am good being a fool in your eyes..

no, ur not being foolish because u r not playing the ME. put those g's to good use and continue the poker grind at a reasonable buyin, not a 10k one

What does this even mean?

It means he doesn't understand how these games work.

And I'm certain everyone who won a prize was paid, or we'd have heard about it.

And I'm not certain WPN made a lot, if any, money on the WSOJ's now that a jackpot multiplier was hit. These got a lot less volume than they anticipated.
