Winning Poker Network Distributing Personal Information to other Gambling Sites Winning Poker Network Distributing Personal Information to other Gambling Sites

06-13-2013 , 03:58 AM
Ok. So I have a MAJOR gripe with winning poker network. For the past couple months, I have been getting unsolicited emails from various online casinos to an email address that is on file with WPN. No other gambling related site has this email. It is fairly clear that they have been distributing or selling player information to other gambling sites... I was annoyed by the emails, but tolerated it.

Now, this week, I have received actual MAIL TO MY HOUSE from two online casinos. The only entity related to any kind of gaming that has my current address is winning poker network. I have never played on an online casino, nor deposited any money with one. All other poker sites that I played on had an old address. The ONLY one that has my current address is winning poker network, as I moved approximately 4 months ago. In fact, the only places that have any clue of my current address are my bank, my utility companies, the DMV, and winning poker network.

This has ruffled my feathers pretty bad. It is one thing to distribute email addresses, and while I think it is pretty bad for them to do it, I never emailed them. However, distributing my name, address, and personal information to other companies is downright unacceptable.

I would appreciate a response from a WPN rep. As of now, I am going to cease playing on the site and request that all of my personal information be deleted from their records.

Not a good way to do business WPN.... up until this point I loved your network. But selling or distributing players personal information to other gaming companies is pretty scummy.

That's messed up.

I have been getting more gambling related emails and letters in the mail. I am not sure if it is because of WPN but it is possible. If so that is very uncool.

It's certainly not just a coincidence. This is beyond shady. You would expect privacy of personal information to be a top priority with a site like this. Instead it appears they are selling off players information.

I wondered why after updating my address on wpn so I could start playing online I started getting casino spam at my house.. I just bought this place 2 months ago... Now I know... Need an answer ASAP on this... Or else I too will be pulling my play off bcp.

Where one of those casinos called "jpg casino"? and did the letter say you get a free $80 chip to play? I tried finding information about it online and as far as I'm aware it doesn't even exist.

I to have been getting spam email and letters from casinos but never really thought about it. Def need an answer to this and it needs to stop asap!!!!

Yes. I have received the JPG casino letter at my house twice. I guess we can now conclusively say WPN is distributing player inforamtion including names, addresses, and emails.... so wtf WPN

I've had the same thing. I wasn't sure where it came from as I play on every site for the US, but it wasn't until the fall I started to get this stuff. (Same time I started on WPN) I've never got anything at my house, but plenty in my email. Pretty ridiculous and agree it needs to stop NOW.

I also received that letter in the mail. Same exact deal. The link to that jpg casino doesn't even work and there was no info online that I could find. The letter was sent from a personal address also which seemed kinda fishy.

Why would a site that offers poker, casino and sports give your information to their competition? I doubt there is a ton of money in selling email info compared to having customs play on there site.

I personally haven't got an emails of this nature.

It doesn't have to be the site, could be individuals. Why were people having random charges on their debit cards after depositing on different sites in the last 2 years? Fwiw, my email for ACR is only used for ACR. How would I get spam from random gambling sites? There is a lot of money to be made selling lists of emails, phone numbers, addresses. It's a big money business.

same thing happened/happens to me, I created an email just for lock poker, and haven't used it for anything else, and I get 30 emails a day in my spam folder since then, they do sell your info, but I doubt anything can be done but its complete bull**** cause you lose trust in them

Edit: which also reminds me, ive also received a few texts to my phone which was gambling related, I ended up removing my phone number from my accounts, don't know how much that will help though at this point

No....I don't think WPN would be giving your email to gambling websites. Why would they do that. They would essentially be sending their customer base to other people. WPN already offers sports bettings, slots, table games and poker. Why would they give your email and mailing address to other gambling websites. I've been with WPN since September and other gambling sites and i have never received any email about gambling websites.

I don't know. I just deposited with BCP a few weeks ago and I haven't received one suspicious email since.

I'm certainly not saying this means YOU aren't receiving spam...just saying that you would think if they were doing this they would definitely target a new depositor.
06-14-2013 , 01:03 PM
I've never received anything in the mail accept from Intertops.
06-14-2013 , 02:18 PM
If ACR is actually guilty of doing this, it is completely unacceptable. Like others, I would also like to hear what ACR Rep has to say about it.
06-14-2013 , 02:54 PM
people still get mail?

That seems more likely than the actual site making that policy. Individuals, payment processors ect.

I play on BCP and can confirm that I've received an email and actually mail too.

They are probably not selling the info, but more than likely own the casino, and or sports site as well and are just trying to cross brand from a brand that is working.

Either way, this is totally unacceptable and I for one would like a Winning Rep to come on here and explain themselves.

In the poker client at the top there are choices where you can already plays sportsbetting, horses, casino and other various casino games. The only email i get from WPN is to tell me to check out their casinos or whatever that is already on the poker client.
