Why not just use your debit card Why not just use your debit card

To make deposits? I did $50 maybe 2 years ago and nothing ever came of it..

Its seems with all the hoops you have to jump through with linking up on bank accounts and yada yada, that in the end it still seems like its still traceable anyways.

Most banks (like mine) will block charges over seas or gambling sites. Some sites i used back in the day would actually disguise the charge as you buying clothes or something but I think they got in big trouble for that.... I resort to bitcoins now.

I dont feel comfortable linking my bank account to some random bitcoin account. I mean, its my personal bank account that gets direct deposits from my employer and all that other good stuff.

My deposit was disguised i remember that.

I guess my only options are:

1. opening another bank account at some other bank (too much hassle)
2. keep winning freerolls and build up more funds that way (still too much hassle)
3. find someone I can paypal funds so they can transfer cash/bitcoin to my poker account. (easiest way but can easily be screwed)
4. give up on online poker

That "random bitcoin account" is from a financial exchange subject to U.S. banking laws.

I actually use Localbitcoins.com and a prepaid serve account. Really easy.
There are lots of forms of payments there so you really do not need to use a credit card at all.

lol no it isnt......

It's an option but sometimes you will still get declined due to international transaction thing,etc....

I also ran into something recently where about two months ago I tried to use a credit card on another network since I sold off my bitcoin and it would take a few days for the repurchase to clear,etc...

This card I haven't used in months so it has no balance on it so I went with that one and it got declined but a few weeks later someone stole the information trying to use it in the USA several states away from me at a gas station, for a bus pass, and $60 worth of soul food.

The credit card company realized these transactions likely weren't me and blocked them while reissuing me a new card.

Since I didn't use this card for several months despite getting declined from the site I attempting to use it on I feel someone stole the information from there, especially when this happened a few years back with a different site.

Bitcoin is the best way to go but if it's not an option then one of the peer to peer transfers is safer imo.

An exchange is much more trustworthy with your information then a poker site and you can always do the bitpay card for your withdrawals.

They used to accept almost all credit cards, however lately I have been hearing from numerous people about cards being declined. I think the days of accepting most cards are gone and pushing people towards bitcoin. Which is better for cashing out anyway..

I think the consensus is bitcoins are the best for cashing out, but the OP is asking about deposits.

OK some good responses here. I searched for a bitcoin ATM and the closest one is about an hour by train, which isnt bad at all but I dont take the train (to NYC) like I used to.

At this point, I dont want to risk more than $50. Id consider it a loss as soon as its on my poker account. however, if I manage to build it up a few hundred I would like to cash it out.

Visa bitpay card is your friend. Poker site->wallet (Blockchain)->Visa bitpay card. Cash available from atms or cash after market/store (Walmart) purchase.

LOL im scaaared.. The Bitpay wants my SSN. Guess Im screwed until I can find someone that will transfer me funds with paypal.

Lots of great options here guys I appreciate all the help. I may end up doing the Bitpay after I do more research. I really dont want my SSN going to some random person.

The only place I dont mind having my info is the poker site.

Coinbase is the best option. Get you a bitcoin wallet and purchase bitcoin with Coinbase with your debit card. Then send the funds to your wallet and then to the poker site. Coinbase has minimal fees and probably the most trusted site to buy bitcoin.

If I was willing to pay the 10% fee they charge, that might be an option. I don't even like paying 1.49% + inflated bitcoin rate at Coinbase, but it is the easily the best option for purchasing bitcoin.

And using a credit card? So naught (like last decade )

+1 You can buy bitcoin on Coinbase with a credit card. Then transfer to blockchain and deposit onto WPN.

For amounts as small as 50.00 I would just use NetSpend prepaid visa. No restrictions. The load fee is 3 dollars and the use fee is 1 dollar per use. So pretty much only used for shady foreign gambling sites

I've tried to use Netspend Visa card the last 3 times and each time it was declined not because of Netspend issues but because the processors would not accept it.

Hmmm ACR and Carbon accept it for me. Are you trying to buy bitcoin or just deposit straight to a site?
