Software Will Not Load Software Will Not Load

I am hoping someone here can help. ACR support has been profoundly un-helpful.

The lobby loads fine when the software is first installed, but will not load afterwards. No message of any kind, just does not start.

I am using Windows 7.

I rebooted my machine and reloaded the software. Java and Flash versions are up to date.

I checked Windows firewall and AVG antivirus and I believe I authorized the program in both, but would not swear I got it right.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I had a similar issue a while back. it was my Anti-virus software. try to disable the firewall and antivirus temporarily and see if the issue still happens.

Yes, that is how it started for me. I had the site open all day, then tried to check the rewards page and it kept timing out. So I tried to close the client and restart, and then it would not restart.

However, I just tried to verify before I posted, and the site loads for me now. Though the rewards page still never connects.

For those with AVG antivirus(maybe some others too), you have to allow it and there's usually a few different popup screens you have to do this on during install/updates. Also the Allow button may not immediately show up, then you have to click more options or whatever it's called. If anyone knows of a more permanent fix feel free to post it.

You have to do this each time WPN updates pretty much and if you mess up, then completely remove WPN and reinstall. The reason for all of this is that AVG sees a small part of the WPN software as a possible virus and tries to remove that part, which causes the WPN software to not load all the way. It's not a virus, just a false positive btw. If I had to guess then it would be that it's part of their security...anti-cheating, bot-detection, QA, etc. So yeah it's annoying, but probably necessary.

Ah thanks for the info lotus, I have avast and that may be causing problems as well. I was in the process of reinstalling ACR but their site was down for a while it seems. Looks like I can download it now

I was able to resolve it, but it took 3 things (none of which came from ACR which has been silent).
1. Disable AVG antivirus while loading like @lotuspod2 suggested. Otherwise the 'checking for newer versions' download gets flagged and AVG removes the software. This, of course, begs the question- Why on earth would I need to download the latest version on a fresh install?
2. Go to all the objects and folders and make sure there are full permissions on all files and folders.
3. Go to my firewall (Windows Firewall in my case) and allow the software full access through it.

I seem to be fine now, but am going to wait a few days and play with play money. This way I can insure stability before putting any real money in.

Thanks for all the comments.

They should hire the poker botters to write Customer Service bots instead to cut down the volume of CS traffic and give better quality answers lol. Prolly a lot more money in that than there is in botting micros only to eventually get banned, and on the other side the site pays a lot less for CS than hiring a bunch of people who know very little and can only respond to a few people at a time

I had to remove Mcafee antivirus completely from my machine to get the reinstall to work.

Despite me turning off all protection and firewall the antivirus was still scanning and blocking the program somehow

Keep getting an "Error while loading resources" message.
Haven't played on the site in awhile, thought I'd load it up and bang off a FR or two.
