lol, what? Is that a serious question? Accumulate enough overlays and buh-bye business. Running a business is pretty much dependent on a profitable business model and happy customers.

One of the biggest problems is there are too many tournaments. I am thinking alot about making alot of 1 hour late reg with a few main tournaments for the day.

I am still undecided but i do agree, Saturdays is the one day that players usually take off.
saturdays have always been slow for tournaments. people are off work and don't need to gamble online to escape the hell that is their every day life.

Yes, and we should let acr figure it out. Players complaining because of overlay on the sites behalf is just stupid (OP). It's like buying a tv at BestBuy and complaining it is priced too low.

For a player, the rule of thumb was always the guarantee divided by the buy-in should give you a pretty good idea how many entrants you will have to run through and as a result how long it should take. That works on most sites. But something is different with ACR. They seem to want to be the king of cheap, large guarantees and as a result have to offer 5 hours of late reg and pray that it gets covered. They also have more random BS games that probably contribute more to diluting the games which causes more overlays.

Re: Saturdays!!

Pray they cover?? Do you play many of the games? A lot of games are way oversold, I've seen double the GTD. Saturday may be an aberration, but it is not the norm. They have explained the long registrations enable the large GTDs, no 'pray that it gets covered'.

If they were the king of cheap, I think they would just wipe the Saturday slate clean. Winning_td ran the satty into the Sunday special that had big overlays every game. I don't see them as being cheap at all.

Re: Saturdays!!

If i were the TD of WPN i would cut the tourneys that overlay on Saturdays and re-evaluate. No need of a huge revolution imo.

please...they make plenty of money...i play headsup cash sometimes...and ill go breakeven against a guy for 10-15 minutes...and our stacks will be a combined 15$ lighter because of rake

and yes i understand the concept of running a business...dont even have guarantees then? problem solved

So understand how to run a business but do you know how to run a poker site? My guess is that when you suggest to not to have guarantees probably you don't. Having properly set guarantees is essential for a good tourney schedule. If too big the site loses too much money and too small the players won't play them.

I think the best thing WPN can do is either cut back late reg, have more turbo structures and a better satellite system.

Re: Saturdays!!

I don't know if it's way too many tournies but rather a lot of potential Satty's that never actually pop off due to not meeting the minimum. Looking at different/better sattys to entice them to run would be great.

If they do make plenty of money, as you claim, then that would suggest they are doing it the right way. Intertops has tons of overlays if you are looking for them

Re: Saturdays!!

You all can take Saturdays off for tournaments and jump into some cash games. Give it a go. I absolutely love playing cash games. Unlike in a tournament, you're not stuck in your seat for 8 hours. You can come and go as you please.

Re: Saturdays!!

Saturdays is a prime day of playing for me. Some things I have asked while playing is,
1) Is 5 hours of late reg really necessary?
2) Where are all the turbo MTTs?
3) Where are the bounty tournaments?

I would like to see some more bounty and turbos.

As for cash, the only cash game format that is remotely appealing to me is Zoom style. If I want to be bored at full ring, I'll just go to the casino.

Then the obvious answer is don't do full ring. Most cash game players play 6-max these days anyways. It has far more action.

I don't enjoy the casino scene. You can only play 1 table causing you to get bored easily and you have the urge to force the action with crap cards.

I've refrained from posting because I couldn't think of anything helpful, but I basically agree with this.

While I don't say cut out the long late reg MTTs, sometimes I don't want to play those and look for a couple turbos, which the schedule is a bit lacking in, or satellites for future MTTs (I wouldn't mind a few more Satties to Sunday MTTs throughout the week and especially on Saturday)

+1million. 3hr late reg is awesome but not for EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT (non turbo).

Saturday is a perfect day to add some tournaments that start earlier. Lets get a daily schedule going! People aren't at work on Saturdays and happy to play an earlier session. But there is no point in starting a mtt session before 5:00 PM as there is so few tournaments to play early on in the day. Same goes for every mon-sat day and I think Saturday would be an awesome test day for some earlier tournaments.

With 5hr LR, the tourney that starts in 19h GMT should end by 3am GMT, which is still ok for Euro players.

This is my proposal for the schedule - EST time:
10:30 AM $7,000 GTD (5hr Late Reg) $33.0
11:30 AM $5,000 GTD $109.0
12:00 AM $4,000 GTD $66.0
13.00PM $30,000 GTD (5hr Late Reg) $109.0 (prog gtd tourney)
14.30PM $4,000 GTD PLO/PLO8 $55.0
3:00 PM $4,000 GTD $66.0
3:30 PM $20,000 GTD (5hr Late Reg) $22.0
4:00 PM $5,000 GTD 6-Max $44.0
4:30 PM $10,000 GTD PLO 6-MAX $109.0

This timeframe is convenient for EU players already playing on the site, and the good start to attract new EU grinders. This way we can have almost a full schedule for mid/high stakes grinders starting early.

Great work with OSS TD! Now it's time to profit from it.
any of these suggestions could fit nicely on Saturday

Re: Saturdays!!

Turbo Saturdays is probably the way to go. With turbos you can shorten late reg as more people will be busting out and rebuying earlier because of the faster levels.

Also if most tournaments are turbos you may entice more people to play as they may see the possibility of playing as well as going out and having fun on their Saturday.

1 hour late registration games! Recs don't want to play MTTs for 8+ hours. People have families, lives and plans with their day.

Make Saturdays Turbo Saturdays. Families do go out but i can see where I may play some MTTs with Turboey structures. Make a cage event be on a Saturday. Things that aren't so long of structure.

Re: Saturdays!!

What about giving more freezeouts with 60-90 min LR? Do them starting at $10 then go to $20, $40, 60 etc. But do them as KO's where half goes to prize pool and half goes to bounty. Id like to think theyd fill up quick and no worry of overlay.
