I try to start 9-max tables sometimes but most seem to grind the 6-max's. I'll sit and wait to see if people show, but I'm not playing 3-4-5 handed. I'd just play a 6-max then.

You're forgetting the rake. Again, depends on the stakes but micro-low tables makes little sense to grind heads up when there are plenty of 6-max's to play.

rake is an issue obviously. If someone plays 2 hands and then sits out and waits for some players to come then obviously that's fine. Its just kind of lame when someone plays 1 hand which is their button, quits, and then goes and opens a new table.

This has been happening forever. When you play heads up cash games its expected to occur. Just note them and know it next time they show up at your table.
