Playing ACR from an excluded state? Playing ACR from an excluded state?

What will happen if I play from one of the excluded states?

Nothing. They don't give a ****

I still don't understand why they even care about "excluded states". They are clearly operating outside of US law. Why do Bovada, BOL and ACR even care?

I mean it's written in their terms of service. So if you win something big, couldn't they be like, nope sorry restricted state it's our money now

Sounds like you may have answered your own question.

Are they operating outside of US law? I thought the federal law had to do with the transferring of funds to US banks. There's nothing that specifically outlaws online poker. The 'excluded states' have passed there own laws which specifically deal with online poker.

However I could be completely wrong.

You are right. The only state that you can get in trouble for playing online poker is Washington state, which it is a felony actually. No other federal laws state it is illegal, but I am not sure how states where online poker is legal handle you playing on a non-regulated site (seems pretty dumb to play unregulated tho if it is legal in your state). And going back to what was said, if you try to cash out money to a state that is on their "no play list", it is very possible they say, "F you bro, we told you so." Then they keep your money and buy themselves some blow and a hooker(s) on your expense, with not even a bump or pee pee touch for you.

Welp, I found my answer. Tried a small cashout thru bitcoin, 3 days later I receive an email saying it was cancelled because:
For security purposes we need you to verify your current location before processing a payout through your account.
So they will let you play all you want, but not pay you out. Those sneaky bastards. Glad I haven't invested more time into it than I already have.

Guy, all you have to do is what they asked and you will get paid.

They just want to make sure you are who you say you are before sending money out, pretty reasonable, IMO.

So you know their rules, you know you're breaking their rules, you get caught, and their the sneaky bastards?

I would prefer to be able to delete this thread, but that is no longer possible. I take back anything bad I have said about ACR. They have handled my situation in a way that is more than fair. I really enjoy their software and wish them continued improvement and success in the future. I tip my hat to you ACR.

To be fair, if the site had done what OP had suggested (allowed people to deposit/play but not withdraw) it would be pretty messed up.

I think that is the M.O. of most poker sites when dealing with this issue. They will verify your identity when making a withdraw, and if you are in a forbidden state then you are denied.

No sense if having a huge verification process when joining the site, it will drive away players if it takes too long. You have to state your location and if you lie, that's on you.

They should not let you deposit if they are not going to allow you to cashout, in my opinion, assuming you sign up with you're actual address. This is especially true for sites that do not keep their published terms consistently up to date.

I used to play on acr and i have state reglated online poker. The regulated site is such a joke tho, just imagine the deadest site you ever played on or looked at the lobby and the software looks like it's competing with the industry 10 years ago. State regualted online monopoly is basically what it is and it's pretty pathetic. I've never withdrawn money from acr tho so take that fwiw.

Except this isn't actually the case with ACR? Previous poster said they were paid out just fine after thinking the same thing. Verification processes are for both for yours and the site's protection from scams not as a location gotcha.
