Need math wiz to help decide if 27% or Elite Combat is best rewards program with deposit bonus Need math wiz to help decide if 27% or Elite Combat is best rewards program with deposit bonus

So I just found out something interesting, if you sign up for the 27% rakeback option they take that out of your deposit bonus. So you can't have both, vs the elite program where you would still get both that and your deposit bonus.

Curious how this adds up, for any math wiz out there, since you:
1. Get 5.5 RP for each $1 in rake until you hit 750 RP, and then
2. Get 8.25 RP for each $1 in rake after that, prob won't hit the next tier

For someone playing at this level which option is better, b/c I'm pretty sure if I'm going to earn, say, 1000 RP in a month, then 27% is a better option

You can switch once in the lifetime of the account, so in theory you could keep the VIP until the bonus is done and then switch. However, if you are planning to play a lot (not microstakes), this chart shows that it might be better to stay with the VIP system. GL

VIP is probably better you you even without the deposit bonus, especially if you use your points on tourney tickets instead of cashing them out in the store. They also offer the occasional redeposit bonus iirc. That link was from a different thread which will probably be really useful to you. Btw you keep your current tier for the start of the next month, so it's a bit higher than you're expecting I think.

According to that chart, earning 12,000 Rank Points for the year, with at least 750 each month (to maintain tier 2 VIP level) will yield about 22% rakeback.

Notes: The chart is using the old dealt method for rake. The calculation is using the equivalent of TB bonuses for converting CP/PPS to cash (I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as buying into tournaments).

  • Determine rake paid: 12,000 Rank Points (column 1) = $2,160 rake (col 2)
  • Determine Accumulated RP Bonus: 12,000 Rank Points (col 1) = $150 Acc Bonus (col 5)
  • Determine CP/PP earned (at tier 2): 12,000 * 1.5 = 18,000 CP/PPs
  • Determine TB Convert: 18,000 CP/PPs (col 6) = about $322 TB Convert (col 8)
  • Add Acc Bonus and TB Convert to get total rake return: $150 + $322 = $472 rake return
  • Calculate effective rakeback percentage: $472 / $2,160 = 22% rakeback

Ok the chart is a bit off because it's assuming the all of the tiers are yearly and not monthly. So basically unless you can get in the highest monthly tier (4) for most of the year, then stick with flat rakeback instead. And if you're going for 7.5k RP a month for it, you may as well go for the 100k RP a year because it's not much more per month and the 3.5x boost is huge + carries over to the next year.
