My Norton anti virus software just deleted ACR My Norton anti virus software just deleted ACR

I tried to log on, Norton identified a high security risk and deleted file. Help? I sent email as well to support.

I had the same exact problem. Sometimes this happens with updates, Norton flags stuff to be on the safe side. In my case it removed the .exe file without giving me the option to over ride.

Here's what I did to fix:

Uninstall ACR
turn off Norton antivirus
Re-install from their website
turn Norton back on.

Works fine now.

I've been having same issues on one of my computers for a week or so. On my main computer this started happening yesterday. I did the whole un-install turn off norton thing, and it worked yesterday. But wouldn't open today when turned my computer on. I'm actually re-installing the client right now. I'm so sick of un-installing/re-installing, prob done it over 10 times in last week.

Anyone else have a fix or any other suggestions?

I had Norton reinstall for me remotely. I'm thinking of getting rid of them because I'd like to try HM2 and Norton seems to interfere with that too.

I think Norton's auto-protect feature is flagging the exe file when you run the software. Not 100% sure on that but you can set it in the exemptions list and see if that resolves. I just set mine there and ACR closed and reopened fine.

Open Norton, go to settings, Antivirus and SONAR Exclusions, and configure for Items to exclude from Auto-Protect...

Click the add drop down, select files, and use the folder search to add AmericasCardroom.exe

Norton sometimes dingles with PT4 updates as well. It's a bit of a PITA in the moment, but personally I'd rather they be flagging stuff they're not sure about than letting it all pass through. Try adding the stuff you trust like HM2 to the exemptions list.

Yeah before I read this, I just tried to open it again w/ norton on and the SONAR exclusions thing removed it again. But I clicked on details and had it exempted and re-configured or re-installed. It works now. Thanks for the suggestion.

quick solution for this issue is:
1-uninstall the program off your comp
2-turn off your anti-virus
3-download program, install, and run
4-turn anti-virus back on

Would you advise this solution for McAfee also? It identified ACR download as possibly containing viruses, spyware, ect. Have not downloaded yet.

No don't do it.

yeah, Bitdefender flagged it as potentially malicious so I made my screenname on ACR PotMalicious.

My reads (but no confirmed source) say that this site is a rigged scam because they falsely advertised that id get free 5$ within 24 hours of signing up.

also I saw that video where the guy got a royal flush In the million dollar tournament and get kept on repeatedly getting disconnected.

Either way, I set BitDefender to allow and to monitor this software.

Being on the slightly computer illiterate side, I'm reluctant to install this program without further info. College final exams over. Will wait on son to return home.

Yes i would advise the same steps
1-uninstall the program off your comp
2-turn off your anti-virus
3-download program, install, and run
4-turn anti-virus back on
the reason why your antivirus is not allowing its because when we make a a new update the antivirus will block it.

This seems like the more surefire solution.

I used to have the same problem. Here's my solution...

1. Assuming Norton has already removed AmericasCardroom.exe, re-install it.

2. After install don't hit "run". Uncheck the box and close the installer after completion.

3. Right-click the Norton system tray icon and click "Open Norton Premier 360"

4. Near top right you'll see "Settings"

5. From there click "Administrative tools"

6. Scroll down to "Program exclusions" Click on "configure [+]"

7. Locate directory where you installed AmericasCardroom. Select AmericasCardroom.exe

This should prevent any further "detection"/deletion of ACR.
