Jackpot Counter beta Jackpot Counter beta

03-04-2016 , 10:47 PM
Hoping to release my jackpot counter soon, which should make it easier for PT4 users to get Jackpot Poker winnings correctly updated in PT4 (maybe HM2 eventually). Rather than manually editing in PT4 or using my AHK script, which requires pulling up reports and copy/pasting, correct winnings can be uploaded directly into the PT4 database with the click of a button.

For anyone interested in checking it out and letting me know if it reads prize pools and counts them correctly, there's a download link below for a beta version. Just unzip the file wherever you want it and run directly from the unzipped folder (no install needed). It simply reads the prize pools in real time as you play and records them to a text file (WPNjackpotCounterDB.txt).

The PT4 update ability is not enabled yet. Mostly, I want to confirm it reads prize pools correctly on machines other than mine before enabling that feature. (It will definitely not read the very largest table sizes yet, nor any top-3 jackpot tiers.)

For testing it out, you can enable counting on observed tables via the settings. Be sure to edit or delete the text file (WPNjackpotCounterDB.txt) when you want to keep track of just your own games.

Hopefully the interface is fairly intuitive. Click the Update PT4 button. Enter the postgeSQL user, port, and password (PT4 defaults are already entered). Click "Get available database name" and then select the DB name you wish to update. (In PT4, Database --> Database Management will show your DBs and which one is your active DB.) Then you can show the DB status and update with new prize pools collected by the counter.

To backup your PT4 database before using this, go to "File" --> "Backup".

Any instructions on this for the technically challenged?

Click "Settings" and enter your hand history folder location.

Have the counter running while you play and it will track the prize pools you see (other than the top 3 tiers, which pay 3 places.)

Then follow the instructions below to upload the prize pools (winnings) to PT4.

It logged only one game then stopped working. Does this track multiple games?

Thanks for the feedback. Any other information you can provide will be appreciated.

Yes, it should count them all, with the possible exceptions listed below.
  • It wont count games with top-3 tier prize pools.
  • It wont count on table sizes larger than 1158x855.
  • It might not work on tables that are resized by table management software to a size or aspect ratio other than the fixed sizes the poker client provides.
  • It might not work with some mods, specifically if the mod affects the prize pool aree of the table.
  • It hasn't been tested on skins other than ACR, BCP, and TP.

It works fine now. My table sizes must have been to large. Thanks for the help and the software.

Works good! Is there a way to get it to read the WSOJ's (or other future satellite jackpots)?
03-30-2016 , 12:30 PM
I'll think about it more but it's probably unlikely., mostly because I don't play them and it would not be a trivial extension since they have a different payout structure. On the other hand, it would be fairly accurate to just count them all as 2x.

  • Added HM2 support.

Backup you databases regularly.

Note that the HM2 default password is postgrespass. Hover over "Password" if you forget.

It's working for me on smaller table sizes. Do you use a program to resize?

Regarding the error, can you describe the situation? HM2 or PT4? Was it working before? Is it a new database? Do you get any error just running "Show status of DB tables"?

Any info like this that you can think of will help.

PT4, it worked for 1 hand and stopped, no new database, no error "show status of DB tables", no program use to resize, count work fine on 2$ limit but on 10$ limit i need resize table for activate count .... sry bad english

When I tried to configure the update 1 st time, could not connect to the database, but then it turned. I have done something with the password from the postgres

I can donate for this program and you can look through teamviewer what is wrong with my settings? tnank you

Hopefully we can sort it here. Are you using any table mods?

Download this new version and let me know what you see in the Prize pool image box (circled in red) when it is working and when not working. Also, what is showing for current prize pool in the title bar in each case.

only PT4 use, no any table mods or anything
sorry nothing has changed in new version
2$ limit work fine, but 10$ nope

This problem is solved by changing the size of the table, but the main problem for me is not a working update

There's no good way for us to exchange contact info since you're 2p2 account is new and does not have private message enabled yet.

If you can, please post a screen shot of a $10 table and the counter next to it. Make sure the $10 table is the active window (you don't have to be playing).

Thanks. Please try this version and let me know what it says in the "Current table prize pool" area. It should be one of "x" or "e1" to "e4".

Thanks ggzbd. This version has some actual changes and hopefully gets the prize pools for you -- please let me know either way. If there is still a problem with updating PT4, let me know.

what exactly does this software do? Counts jackpot distribution? Does it also track $ won/lost? Do I need PT4/HM2 to use it? Is it pulling info from a table scrape or the actual HH's?

Looks cool and will give it a shot soon!

It automatically counts the Jackpot prize pool distribution (except for the top 3 tiers, which can be manually entered). It tracks the tournament number, buyin, and prize pool (not player winnings directly). With this information, it can optionally be used to correct the Jackpot Poker winnings in PT4/HM2.

It pulls the tournament number and buyin from the window title information and prize pool from the table. The existence of a hand history file is used to confirm it's a game you are playing, so it knows which games to count. (Observed games can be counted via an optional setting, for testing.)
