I was on the lead board for the last three month, getting $84, $92 and $103. Meanwhile, I was raked by the BBJ by $103, $125 and $146. I think you at least need to be the top 80 on the leadboard to be break even

still not break even

Yeah, I did the calculation again. According to July's result, I think one needs to be the top 20 to be break even.

At the rate I am feeding this thing this month I am gonna need to be in the top 5 to break even. After realizing that there are at least 3 super human accounts I would have never started this race in the first place. But make no mistake about it to all those behind me no matter how much cash I have to shell out or time I need to invest I will not let you pass me. And to the 4 of you in front of me (places 4-7) I have every intension of unleashing a ****load of cash in this thing after the 20th for the soul purpose of generating there points. So my advice to you is don't get comfortable cause I don't give a **** about the money and those that have played with me know this. As for the top 3 well all I can say is that the way you are generating the points appear to be impossible for one man to do. That being said I have to get some sleep now unlike my top 3 opponents.

Sounds like you're on the right track. GL

Also, it seems site Reps have claimed that every one that gets paid a Beast amount contributes less to the Beast than what they are getting paid. That is, everyone making it high enough to get paid is actually profiting from the Beast. It doesn't feel that way at all. But if that is indeed the case, they should consider putting an additional stat into the page (or make it available elsewhere) showing how much each person contributed to the Beast for the month. So we can actually see how much we are contributing versus how much we are getting paid back.

I haven't been able to find a PT4 stat, or learn how to make one, that could accurately keep track of how much money I'm contributing to the beast each month. Is that possible? What sort of filtering should I do if I want to see how much I'm paying per month to the Beast (assume I'm playing on JP tables)?
Filter: Saw Flop

Then take the number of hands and multiple it by Won When Saw the Flop and you get a number of pots you won that were you were debited the BBJ/Beast drop.

Then you can multiple that number by the 17 cents (I believe) taken out for the Beast.

Just a very very rough estimate, but if you put in 30k hands you'll pay $850 into The Beast. That's based on winning 1 out of 6 pots and $0.17 Beast rake per pot. Add in the BBJ rake and the regular rake and I don't know how you'd make money.

Is there a sweet spot? I feel like those that sneak into the money will actually paid less than what they get out. Those that finish 15th-150th get hosed for sure though.

This estimate is way off although its still clear that very few people profit from the beast. Last month I played ~30k hands. I saw 4790 flops and of those won 2351. This means I paid $399.67 into the beast. I placed 29th in July for ~230$. I wouldn't have recouped my 400 unless I placed 23rd or better. But then of course I would've paid more. So the top 20 estimation is probably accurate.

its just the top guy who "profits"

wpn doesnt add anything to the beast, they most likely take something out. so if the first guy gets 2x the second guy, how can anyone below him "profit"? they all put in less than what they get back

You're winning 1/12 hands?!? Maybe your game is way off. Hopefully that's all on 9-max.
