This thing starts is a few hours and still the FAQ is not functioning.... and there's woefully little information on the promotions site.

How many places will be paid each month in the cash section of the event? If it's dependent upon the number of players or some other criteria... what are those criteria?

How frequently will the results be updated? What is the lag time between completion of the SNG and its inclusion in the updated stats?

It updates in real time under the rewards tab in the client just like The Beast. There isn't a set number of places paid, it all depends on how many people participate and how much money is generated. It lists a basic idea in the link I posted.

"We’ll calculate the payout structure for the cash race based on the number of players participating. As the prize pool gets bigger, the number of places that get paid out grows with it. So, if the prize pool is $50k, we’ll pay out 200 places. When it grows to $90k, a total of 360 players will get paid."

just popped in to say I won't be participating, I will be sticking to merge, their leaderboards are super attractive and I still hear a lot of negativity in regards to wpn software.

and lolz at those doubting 133 sngs a day for a month, I've played 1k sngs in a 24 hr period on merge. no good hotkeys at WPN though

They've made enough strides with the software to make it pretty decent, but what scares me is the random site shutdowns.

And yeah, I'm not sure how anyone who plays SNGs could think 4K in a month is that much either, even without hot keys. The only issue is if this promotion will provide enough traffic to do that. 1K in a day is pretty sick though! The most I've done was 700ish. I still plan to put in decent volume on Merge as well during this. Their leaderboards are solid.

In theory it should be awesome, but we shall see. My only real issue is the top heavy pay out like The Beast has. It'd also be nice if they broke it into 2 week intervals like The Beast was changed to.

I tried to grind SNGs on Bovada once. Then I wanted to kill myself lol. They are pretty soft though.

The fact it's monthly is the one big drawback for me. Well that and the software. I'm just gonna observe the promo this month and stick with merge for now. I wanna see if people have any big software issues and just get a better feel for what games I can play/volume I'd have to put in for top 10 or so.

FYI,

FOr the next hour you will notice we are taking all the sng;s away and will be replacing them. This all has to be done manually and its going to be a very stressful hour for alot of us involved. I wont have anytime to come here and reply to any questions for now. I will come back when everything is up and running. The uploading of the new sng's will probably sound easier than it is. We obviously cant have anything before 12am. For us to make sure everything is uploading correctly you will find different types of sng's uploading every few minutes. They will not all be there at once. Ok.... the work begins.
I am as excited as everyone else.... gl all i will be on later. Maybe go to Sandmans thread with any questions as its easier to navigate.

I'm pry with Matt. got to give credit to WPN for this though, it is certainly attractive and may get me over there in the future.

I realize that WPN has been very receptive to customer feedback and that major changes like this take a lot of time and effort to implement. I don't expect any quick changes to anything at this point because they will probably want to evaluate over the course of several months what is working and what is not.

However, I spoke over a year ago to one of the higher ups at WPN about what I thought it would take to drive SNG traffic there. This was a discussion that was initiated by them not by me.

It was my opinion then and is still now, that reducing the rake on all formats to something well below the industry standard would get every player in the US market to play there almost immediately.

I see that essentially they have done that by reducing rake by 25% (although arguably it is less since some money goes to reseeding the promo, some gets reraked etc). They have done this in an industry accepted way of creating a leaderboard which also drives people to try to play as much as possible.

However, I still wonder whether simply reducing rakes to 25% below competitors would be a better solution. DoN's and On demand tournaments are terrible. Reducing rake over every game uniformly (with the exception of HU's which are already pretty low and have pretty good traffic) would have a major effect on boosting 6max and 9 max traffic. Once those games are healthy I think the trickle up effect to 18 mans would happen naturally.

Again I am biased since I will never cash this leaderboard. I don't have the time or energy to sit registered for hours just to play hours just to play 5-6 9max turbos. I don't like DoN's and don't care to learn how to play them. I am not going to play a 2h "On demand 18 man" when a proper structure should take 1hr to win and average 40 minutes per game.

Yes I am bitching. But I think if WPN really wants to accomplish the goal of healthy 6-18 man games, they need to reconsider over the course of the next several months whether what they have set up accomplishes these goals and what still needs to be changed.

Also one of the most colluded in. Tried one on bovada yesterday and saw some ridiculous bs by one player that was blatantly obvious to the point I reported the SNG.

This promo is a joke. Has traffic increased at all? The prize pool has barely moved in 10 days. I want to dump some money on the site, but it looks like you have to sit registered for hours on all games and you'll only manage to play a few simultaneously. Such a slow pace.

You're spreading the games way too thin. Regular 6-max and 9-man and that's it. It's ridiculous how many options you give people when you have no traffic.

And the software is still a big disappointment. It's like you're using technology that's 10 years old.

When would we actually receive our $ or ticket? Not until the end of this month?

We will manually register all players that receive a ticket into the tournament.
