Downtime and Disconnect/Lag Issues thread Downtime and Disconnect/Lag Issues thread

12-13-2014 , 12:55 AM
Dear Valued Player,

For several weeks now online poker sites across multiple networks have experienced disconnections and disruptions.

Within the last few days, Americas Cardroom has been experiencing some technical difficulties due to deliberate disconnections produced by an unknown source. As a result, no internet service providers have been able to maintain stable connections, thus causing disruptions to some game sessions.

Resolving these issues is our No. 1 priority to assure you a stable and reliable environment. Please note that we are working non-stop to make sure these interruptions come to an end.

In addition to major connectivity improvements, we have enabled a new feature that allows us to pause a tournament as soon as a high level network disruption is detected. During this pause our tournament staff will communicate with players via table messages. Once the network goes back to its normal behavior we will resume all tournaments.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

The Team at Americas Cardroom

As if maintaining an online poker site wasn't hard enough already, some idiots take it upon themselves to make things more difficult for everyone. I really hope these guys get caught.

Glad WPN is working on solutions.

My client just updated when I fired it up a few minutes ago so maybe they are still working on things.

What do you mean? So the sites were getting attacked by a hacker after alll? That's bomb
12-13-2014 , 11:12 AM
This was brought up earlier in week rep said no no no
The quote is somewhere in one of these threads

The tin hat comment were flying loll

I don't blame them for it obv but it would be nice if they were up front from the start
Imo it is not likely they just found out

So to anyone who thought or told me I was crazy

Suck it and next time just pay attention in class

It is an industry wide problem at the moment. There is even an article up on PokerScout about it right now.

The only thing that a rep said "no" to was the assumption that a particular player on Merge, that a few players have assumed has been taking down sites so he can cheat in tournies, was related to the WPN outages. No rep has stated that these weren't deliberate disconnections.

Fair enough.. You sir are correct

Hope this week end will go smooth, tomorrow is huge!!

So it seems like these connection issues have been from the DDOS attacks even though WPN reps came on this thread to say they weren't.

I played 4 days straight last weekend and earlier this week, and had one issue or another each day. I took a couple days off hoping they would take care of these issues, and during that time is when they sent out the email apology.

Today, I decided to give it a go on True Poker to see if things were running a little smoother--hoping they would be considering the $1M Guaranteed is tomorrow. I have already been disconnected twice, and the same issues seem to be happening: timing out, freezing up, etc.

I just can't rationalize why they would still proceed with the $1M tomorrow. There are attacks going on against their network, and they have proven time-after-time that their servers can't handle the player fields/counts they're hoping for. I can't remember the last time I played an OSS or High Five series without their being some sort of hiccup with their servers/software.

I guess we'll see in less than 24 hours. . .

I've been playing all day and have had zero disconnects, I played on and off in satellites yesterday with no disconnects. I'm not saying there's no chance of any problems tomorrow, but I think if you're lagging it's on your end.

Friday and Saturday, no lags for me too
12-14-2014 , 01:45 AM
yep.. past few days no problems.. smooth.. and 9man lobbies were rockin !
