Changes needed to drive fixed limit holdem at ACR Changes needed to drive fixed limit holdem at ACR

Been looking to play some fixed limit holdem but the tables have been dead at ACR for the last couple of weeks. Here are some ideas to get the fixed limit action going at ACR.

1) Raise the rakeback percentage from 27% to 40% for fixed limit holdem. Fixed limit holdem is an inherently much more expensive game to play than its no limit counterpart. Every penny that goes into the pot is raked in fixed limit, while in no limit if someone opens and is raised by another player and folds there is no rake taken. This happens a ton in no limit where if there is no flop, there is no drop. Add to this, in fixed limit you must play many more hands than in no limit due to the structure of the game it becomes apparent that fixed limit becomes a much more expensive game to play. A 40% rakeback figure will help defray some of this cost.

2) Double the beast points for fixed limit holdem. This will allow fixed limt players to participate in the beast promotion while also defraying the high cost of playing fixed limit holdem.

3) Have a promotion where for every 1000 hands played per week the fixed limit holdem player will receive a $100 bonus.

The above promotions will garner the attention of all players and will have fixed limit games flourishing at ACR. Sure these promotions will cost ACR some money, but they will be spending dimes to make dollars. Fixed limit is a quick action game that will generate a ton of rake for ACR and they will come out way ahead in the deal. The time is now to implement these promotions, while fixed limit players from Ignition are looking for a new home to play. ACR, if they play their cars right can have multiple fixed limit games going on a daily basis. Some food for thought.

WPN already has the best rewards for any American site. If limit players haven't noticed this already increasing the rewards is not going to fix anything. However, what WPN needs to do is PROMOTE their reward program a lot more to limit players. I would love to play limit on WPN if only there was enough traffic to multi table.

Couple of OD FL games and a daily MTT, $150GTD for $3+.30, would go a long way to adding some traffic to the game. May not be the best options for straight cash players, but there will be some overflow to the ring games and there would be some sort of FL action going on.

I guarantee you none of the suggestions you've made will go into effect. Furthermore, none of them are the solution to making fixed limit great again.

Fixed limit is not supposed to have HUGE edges. It never has and it should not. It's a fast paced, low edge, post flop game. It's wonderful for rec players because their money lasts a long time and goes a long way. Thost recs don't give a **** about rakeback and rakeback, or rake for that matter, and that is not what is holding back fixed limit traffic... people wanting to play it is holding back fixed limit traffic.

The game simply isn't sexy because it's not on TV and one can't go "ALL IN!!!" Fixed limit will never be the game that it once was popularity-wise. I think "a dewd" has a good idea though. Starting out with some cheap FLHE tournaments to perhaps build up interest in micro/small stakes play could have the effect of beginning to build the base of a cash game pyramid (economy).

There are only 2 ways to make it happen. 1st is a couple of GTD MTTs. $3 and $10 buyins. $100 for $3 $150 and $300 for $10s.... Also I don't think this game would be fun with 3 hour late registration.

2nd way is a whole separate leaderboard from the beast. Merge did that with HUSNGs a few years back and that seemed to work at that time.

I would like to subscribe to your newsletter man o' war.

while we're at it I would like 50% rakeback for Omaha games to drive action and $200 for every 500 hands that are played at any Omaha tables. I believe that would be a fair solution to drive action to Omaha and Omaha 8 tables.

Of course limit poker will never have the numbers of no limit poker, nor do I expect it to have those numbers. But, for a site of this size it should have 2 to 4 games of limit poker between 2-4 and 5-10 stakes going between the hours of 12 pm and 12 am EST. The ideas I mentioned would achieve this while providing a large increase in revenue for ACR.
Ignition poker had several limit games of all sizes running 24/7. Players are not pleased with the decisions at Ignition recently regarding table access and for ACR not to capitalize on this would be a huge mistake. If ACR steps up and delivers on promotions, the players at Ignition will come here in droves and drive the limit games at ACR; this is a fact. Players playing for zero promotions at Ignition would love to get some promotion money on a weekly basis. Also, some no limit players would switch to limit if they received 40% rakeback. As already stated, giving 40% rakeback to limit players will increase revenue for ACR, even more than they receive from the 27% no limit player.

I personally think ACR doesn't have to do a thing and players will still abandon Ignition at a high rate to play on ACR. The Ignition changes are literally that bad.

don't care...I just think its laughable that you think that WPN should bend over backwards for your niche game and give you guys the farm...might as well start screaming from the streets about stud and stud/8 getting more stuff as well...

So trolling a thread is your goal. Cool.

WPN gives away nada if they put FL and of stud on the OD or SNG schedules. That is the only thing I would like to see happen. It costs a total of $0.00 to start those games up and the same amount of risk for overlay.

I'm a LHE reg and am moving my money off Ignition. I am planning on playing PLO on winning, but will always have my eyes open for LHE running.

I look for LHE every time I log in, but it never runs. Wouldn't be playing as high as you mentioned, but it is a major bummer for more of a rec player like me.
