Why could it take 72 hours other than it being a plot to get you to cancel and lose your money on the site?

Most likely bc there are 1 or 2 people who process btc withdrawals and they work a 35-40 hour week m-f. So no processing on weekends. And there is a list of requests. Just because you put one in now doesn't mean you are at the top of that list. There could be hundreds of people before you and steps they take to approve those requests based on account history and the amount. Some days the list might be short and you can get it in hours, but when it's busy it can take longer which is why they tell you 72 hours.

If you put your request in after noon today I doubt you get it today, most likely Monday. Not because they want you to lose what you have left and cancel the withdrawal, but because you are not their only customer and others requested before you.

actually came through and was in my coinbase account when I just checked. I have it set up where I can sell by BTCs and instantly cash out to my PayPal debit card so that is nice.

There are 2 big pieces of the equation you're missing.

1. ACR is itself, an exchange. Customers are depositing and withdrawing. Their holdings are not fluid as a normal investor

2. When ACR needs to go to the open market to fill a BTC request, they have multiple exchanges with varying prices.

I'm not going to get into the hypotheticals. If you can't see the business case for investing (or divesting) the accumulated BTC holdings of normal business operations using forecasted supply & demand as is done in many other industries....

What are the best alternatives to CoinBase? I can't deal with Coinbase's extremely slow customer service.

It does seem like there would be a way to show a relatively simple example of where they can profit by choosing how long to delay a cashout (specifically, when to transfer bitcoin to the player).

When a cashout request is submitted they hold dollars and their decisions are when to exchange them to bitcoin and when to transfer bitcoin to the player. As you point out, they potentially have additional decisions about how much btc and dollars to hold in reserve.

I'm genuinely interested in how they could exploit the decision of when to transfer bitcoin to the player.

Requested my first bitcoin withdrawal this morning. So is it safe to withdraw to my blockchain then send it to my coinbase? And then transfer from my coinbase to my bank account? Follow your outlined steps.

Poker site > Wallet (blockchain works) > Coinbase > Bank

It's not foolproof though; Coinbase may still ask questions one day.

They emailed and called me twice to confirm amount and address. Then ended up cancelling because they said I didn't confirm. WTF? Pretty awful internal communication.

Guys when you deposit onto ACR using bitcoin, is the price guaranteed when you make the deposit with a time window, or do you end up with whatever funds it is when it's "confirmed"? I noticed on ignition the price is guaranteed, but on betonline it sucks, I deposited $9500, but my balance was like $93xx caause it took forever to confirm. Which is it at ACR?

Probably best to ask site reps. To speed up your confirmations, increase the miners' fee in your wallet when sending.

As long as you have the BTC cash out option. And verified your account. You should be good to go. Hopefully, you're referring to an address obtained from Blockchain and not your Blockchain account #.
