Hi all,

Should I be worried at all about giving these wallets our bank routing/account numbers and login information?

I felt the same way you did initially. According to Fred though, Circle is US based and legal. Assuming that's true, I wouldn't worry about it. Don't make the mistake I did and use any other site that comes up on google.

It's great to see that WPN has their bitcoin withdrawal system running so smoothly now.

I think bitcoin has potential to be a huge game changer for online poker in the US, and I really respect WPN for being one of the first to embrace it.

The 5 hours would be the time it takes to get bitcoin from WPN.

If you're withdrawing from Circle to your bank account it's still gonna take another 2-3 business days for the ACH transfer to arrive.

You don't need to give them the login info for your bank account, you can verify it using the slower method.

I wouldn't worry about Circle or Coinbase doing anything shady or stealing money from you. They're both legit and backed by $100's of millions in investor capital.

If you do verify with your login info it's still probably not a bad idea to change your password afterwards though, just to be safe.

Yeah, Coinbase is good.

Coinbase and Circle pretty much do the same thing, buy and sell bitcoin with your bank account.

Coinbase charges 1%, Circle has no fees. Coinbase has a few extra features, like being able to store dollars in your account.

Either of them will work though, and both are reputable.

I tried to buy BTC with Circle and got denied.

"We're sorry to report that we were unable to complete your recent deposit."

Anyone else ever have this happen? Waiting to hear back from support

Not sure if this is the case, but sometimes people get auto flagged as "high risk" for some reason and denied. Selling non-reversible bitcoin to people for reversible methods of payment makes them a target to be scammed so they err on the side of caution.

But it's usually able to be overturned and the person white listed by support if everything checks out.

It might be some other issue with your bank or something though. Either way good luck and hopefully support is able to get it fixed.

We should probably quit typing out sircle and koinbase. I was Googling Sircle a week or so ago and like the 3rd hit on Google was this thread. Bit Coin exchanges should be treated as banks in all of the other payout threads.

Saying blockchain or blockchain.info is safe... they're just a bitcoin wallet. They don't ask for your personal info, they don't monitor or care what you are doing, and they don't have control over the bitcoin in your account.

As for the other two, I can understand your point. One difference though is that when people hint at a bank name, most people know what they are talking about. But if you're new to Bitcoin it might be tougher to pick up on the fact that a post is disguising the name of a site, and then find the real one instead.

Also, if WPN is processing their transactions correctly there should be no way for the sites to even be able to detect or stop it. With checks, they might send out batches of them from the same account. Once a bank finds out a certain account number is processing poker related withdrawals they will stop accepting them. Or WU with names. Or with deposits and the type of charge they place on your card.

So the poker site needs to frequently change those things in order to keep them working. But with Bitcoin it is like they are able to use a brand new one for every deposit and withdrawal. Like using a brand new and unique name for every WU transfer, or a separate bank account to write every withdrawal check from.

Even if they were somehow able to find out a certain address was used by WPN... WPN will never use that address again, giving them no help in detecting future transactions. It's made even more difficult since players should also be sending to their own newly generated address every time in between WPN and an exchange.

A more likely problem I could see is if you are easily identifiable from your 2+2 account, either by the email address you used or if your real name is known. Then there is a chance that a site monitoring this thread could find a post by someone and specifically ban them from their exchange.

tl;dr: I'm not too worried about those sites being able to stop transactions with WPN, but will try to lessen the frequency of posting their names in order to drop the Google ranking.

That's the concern. Banks started googling people who they thought were potentially US poker players and closing their accounts. A lot of people can very easily be linked to their IRL information based on their 2+2 account.

In the other threads we just PM people who are confused. Most of the time it's easy enough to figure out, but stops Google from picking it up.

Does anyone know of any other way for me to buy instant BTC that anyone recommends? I'm at my weekly limit on sircle and koinbase takes too long, I'm hoping to get in on a
few of the MTTs tonight and only have access to BetCoin..
08-09-2015 , 10:21 PM
I don't know of any other big trustworthy sites that sell instantly online myself. I've heard of random ones but don't have experience with them. Someone else may be able to add if they know of one though.

But if you have a LibertyX location close by you can go there and pay with cash and get your bitcoin near instantly. They're at normal retail locations like cell phone stores and stuff. You're buying a code from them that you redeem on the LibertyX website for bitcoin. And there's no fee on the first $1k.

Nice, I'll check into that!

Has anyone encountered any trouble linking their accounts with cbase or circle?

I have tried linking my bank account which is at a credit union. Neither cbase or circle has went through after 5 days or so. When I linked Venmo it was instant. So I am confused at the moment.

It's not instant with these 2. Since it's Wednesday now the "or so" is important... circ is 3-5 business days. 5 business days ago is last Thursday, so you may just need to wait a day or so more.

Right. To be clear, you are saying that you gave them your bank account numbers and are waiting for the small verification deposits to arrive in your bank?

If that is the case then like gluten said, wait a couple more business days. Unfortunately ACH transactions like that can be slow sometimes, and depending on your bank and when the transaction is requested can take up to 5 business days or so. That's part of what makes bitcoin transactions seem so great in comparison.

Sorry for being impatient. Circle showed up today. It just seemed weird as normally ACH's through this bank are fast as hell.

I have to say I'm very satisfied with the ease of depositing with Bitcoin. Buying BC, sending to wallet, and then sending to BCP, to having it available to use in games, all took 30 minutes. Support said the amount had to be exact but I was a bit off but it still worked. This is really awesome!

do you need to deposit with bitcoin first to be able to withdraw via bitcoin?
