i stand by this making absolutely 0 sense but ill just leave u to it
edit- change title to " who will play me at 1/2" and it makes more sense, minus your weird 1-way freezeout stipulation
In the 1m 1 drop, when Seiver offered Trickett a freeroll for $500 if he won the orbit, after having won the first two hands of it, Sam said no and a real bet should be 1k.
Which of the following 3 options do you believe? (or combination of any)
1) That Sam seriously wouldn't consider ANY freeroll for $500, it needs to be at least $1k.
2) Sam knew Seiver would up the ante if he pushed back, and it was easy money to double the win potential with no cost to him.
3) Sam was legitimately concerned about such a low equity side bet literally affecting his play (that orbit) to the point where he might significantly impact his shot at winning the tournament.
Your answer will help me understand your thinking. My thinking is that against the best players, I would be -200 EV in this challenge. Due to rake, their EV would approach but not reach +200. Perhaps I'm getting a lesson for $200, but I can assure you that I have no computing aids and would only have the experience itself and hand history of this short event. I guess I just don't see it your way at all.
Also, for what it's worth, this could be a larger stake opportunity later (and I already have some of those lined up with TV-name pros in Vegas)... but the point of this is more to test current theory/presentations of pros such as Doug Polk and James Placek.
