The Beast-Fixed Limit Version The Beast-Fixed Limit Version

America's Cardroom should think about providing a separate beast promotion for fixed limit players. This would generate action in the fixed limit games and also give fixed limit players a chance to participate in the beast promotion. Fixed limit is an quick action game that would provide a lot of rake for the cardroom. It would be a win for the cardroom and the players.

You know that limit or fixed games could also qualify for the Beast and they can actually do really well because how the games are played they tend to get lots of points. I am sure someone playing between 10-14 tables of fixed (lowstakes, medium and high) will give a run to anyone of the NL regs and finish at least in the second tier.

I agree, but in order for that to happen more fixed limit games need to run. Fixed limit games for reasonable stakes (3/6 and up) run sporadically on the site. A separate fixed limit holdem beast would rectify the situation to where you may have fixed limit games running nearly 24/7. Just a thought.

I mean top tier of the beast is $2.5K what more do you really want as an incentive.

I think this is something you need to get the limit community and not so much with us, the games/tables are there and they qualify to the beast.

More FL/PL tourneys would be awesome. Initially, I thought by the title that this thread was about The Beast seats going to a FL type Cage game and got overly excited at the idea.

FL is tough to attract new players/recs because they haven't been exposed to it on TV or understand the differences in the game from NL. A Saturday/Sunday tourney with 4-6 different limit games of various stakes may draw new players into the ring games.

i think he means make a beast that draws it's prizes from fl rake only ?

I know, saw that after I opened thread. Got excited that there may be a regular FL tourney happening.

i meant that towards the wpn rep, he said that the current beast should be motivation to play limit, but mb op is right and it's something of a niche playerbase at this point which would be better served in an isolated ecosystem or whatever you wanna call it

WPN would kill it with some FL promos! A group of NL regs adding 1 Fl table would be crazy rake. Those NL rake race junkies would get excited about the increase in their Beast points. Win for all...especially the FL community.

Please feel free to spend some time 14-tabling shorthanded fixed limit games and come back to us and tell us how reasonable it is.

I used to 14-table full ring on Stars back when that was possible, and even with good software that popped up tables reliably and a script to use a game pad, it was a significant skill. Masstabling limit is much harder than NL, because you play a lot more hands and typically play all streets in each hand.

Also, Ignition has a ton of traffic for Limit O8 with stakes from 1/2 to 30/60. I play very tight but 4 tabling O8 is much harder than masstabling NL.

That is my point. Fixed limit is not like no limit poker. No limit you can play 14 tables because the player is only playing pairs to set mine. You can not do this in limit poker, as the blinds would eat you alive. Four tabling limit poker is extremely difficult to do. The point is, seeing 24 cents going to the beast on every limit hand sucks, especially when you have no chance to receive any portion of it via the beast. A separate fixed limit beast would remedy the situation and would grow the limit games substantially. Also that beast money would stay in the limit holdem player pool.

Agree 100% with ^^

If WPN did a 4 pack of limit games on one of the weekend days with various levels like $5, 10, 25, 75, with GTDs of $300, 600, 900, and 1200 as a start, the games would pick up and become pretty full I would bet.

At the very least, include a couple of limit games in the promo series. There is some interest and it will build.

While I agree with some limit promos would be nice your point of 24 cents going to the beast is completely irrelevant. That 24 cents is coming out no matter what. What to many people don't understand is that the beast drop IS PART of the rake and not an additional charge. If there was no beast you would still be paying it.

If you wish to post ideas about improving fl traffic I am all for that but for the love of God please don't start complaining that the beast hurting the games when you have no idea how it works.

of course it's part of the rake, that's how rb works, they give some of the rake back.

it's not supposed to be an additional rake race or promotion or w/e, esp since the only ppl that can compete in it are VIP i.e opted out of flat rakeback

Inaccurate. Anyone wether they are on the rakeback program or vip program can compete in the beast.

ya but they get reduced points if on rb, and the volume being put out for the leaderboard is already ridiculous

Inaccurate again. Rakeback players and vip players get the same points for the leaderboard. You realize the leaderboard points are different than points awarded if a player is on the vip program right?

I think the OP was just looking for a separate stand alone contest for limit players, not that FL ring players cannot participate in the Beast. Their argument is a pure FL only player is not likely to be able to multi table enough games to really compete on the LB due to volume of play vs NLHE games.

As it stands, it would be difficult to separate the rakes into two award programs, but adding some FL games into the schedule would definitely be a welcome addition for some of us.
