We want to add more fun to the ACR poker experience.

We're exploring the idea of player avatars. Instead of uploading an image (PokerStars), we'll likely do a list of avatars to choose from with emotions and/or animations (FullTilt) because the latter uses less development and resources.

We'd like your input.

What type of avatars would you like?
What type of emotions and/or actions would you like?

Ostrich, Rhino, Whale, Donkey, Fish, Any Celebrity ( Kim Kardashin, Beiber, Michael jackson ) Fun idea but I'm sure this thread will turn into everyone complaining about something..

As dumb as this sounds, rec players love the avatars a lot. I don't really think it matters what ones you make. Just come up with 15-20 and your good

I think a good mix of animals/humans, ala Full Tilt is a good thing. I agree, as a rec myself, I did love Avatars and the ability to stereotype certain Avatars based on my playing experience against them.

In the human category don't forget sports themed. Also one I've never seen done is cities, I think a city theme would be pretty cool. The "emotions" could be sunny, cloudy, rain, snow.

Im not sure if you were kidding or being serious...but it got me to thinking...City might be hard to do, but a landmark from the city might be fun. Since it is America's card room, State Flags (or some kind of state logo)may also be a fun idea.

I would copy the Full Tilt ones or Ultimate Poker (the company that was operating in NJ/NV)

Ninja, Man in Tux, Firefighter, Regular Guy in T-Shirt, Shark are a few I can remember

I was thought this was a feature that was turned off since there has always been the space for them.

One thing I think would be cool for a lot of recreational players is some sort of achievement based images. Don't go crazy with it. But unlock an avatar for winning a tournament wiht more than 100 people in it. Unlock an avatar for winning a Freebuy series tournament. THings like that.

Donald Trump wearing a Pope's hat.

Avatars are a good idea. If you are considering having animations like they have on Carbon, that's a great idea. Rec players love those animations.

I'd like to be a basketball, especially if there's an "angry" emote option.

My vision for cities would be a small general city background with a larger landmark foreground.

When I played on PokerStars it seemed that a lot of people had various avatars of squirrels. My favorite was that of a squirrel lying on his back next to an empty whiskey bottle. Also any avatar having anything to do with Vikings is always popular.

Don't want avatars, would much rather have the option of putting my own personal image in.

How hard is it to upload an image into a circle? If that's too hard then the ones WPN would be fine. Still waiting for final table skin. Every other site has had one forever.

Animals like FTP, plus I think you should allow uploaded images too.

Stars have started offering default avatars in version 7 of the software, which can be put on if the player is too lazy to upload and whose changes don't count towards the limit on the number of uploads.

It's best to have both default and custom avatar options eventually, or indeed have 3D-ish characters and creatures like Full Tilt, Microgaming or Unibet.

Agreed on custom images being way better. I think it really gives sites that use it (Pokerstars etc.) the feeling of playing against unique individuals way better than a selection of pre-made avatars, and I think many casual players like that.

If you're goal is to add more fun, as someone who used to play on Carbon I can 100% confirm the above that players used and really enjoyed the Carbon animations/emojis.
